About the job

Help strengthen mathematics at Munkholmskolen

Do you want to make a difference for both students and colleagues when it comes to mathematics?

Do you dream of taking a central role in the development of the subject and at the same time be the one who makes numbers meaningful for both big and small?

Munkholmskolen invites you, who are passionate about both teaching and guidance, to become our new mathematics teacher with a guiding role.

Your professional knowledge and engagement drive us forward

We see you as an engaged and professionally solid elementary school teacher with a major in mathematics. If you have further education as a mathematics supervisor, that is an advantage – otherwise you are prepared to take the supervisor training in the coming school year. You are motivated by seeing both students and colleagues grow, you work in a structured and systematic way and understand the importance of clear frameworks. You have a sense of didactics as well as a curious and development-oriented approach to the subject and your relationships. Collaboration and responsibility are key words for you.

We expect that you

  • have a major in mathematics
  • want to both teach and mentor colleagues
  • are proactive and naturally take responsibility for the development of the mathematics subject
  • can create good relationships with students, colleagues and parents
  • work systematically and can set clear boundaries
  • communicate clearly and in a recognizing manner
  • are open to sparring and competence development
  • contribute to a positive and development-oriented culture at the school.

Your tasks and opportunities in the job

As our new colleague you will have the opportunity to teach mathematics – preferably with a particular interest in early years – and at the same time play a key role as a subject mentor and sparring partner for colleagues.

You will help with planning, executing and evaluating the teaching, and you will support work with inclusive learning environments and differentiation. You actively participate in professional networks across year levels and have a strong influence on the school's common direction for the mathematics subject. Your guidance will be translated into concrete practice that strengthens mathematical understanding across the whole school. Unity, development and joy in work

With us you will find a safe and development-oriented atmosphere where we prioritise curiosity, community and high professional standards. Collaboration and trust are important values – and you will experience an inspiring environment where all staff thrive and contribute with knowledge and ideas. We work closely in teams with the student at the center and actively involve each other in the school's development. Your efforts will be noticed and contribute to our shared goal of wellbeing and strong subject knowledge.

What you can expect from us

We offer a full-time position, where you have the opportunity for further education as a supervisor – we invest in both your professional and personal development. You will have great influence on your everyday life in an open and supportive collegial community. Salary and terms follow the applicable collective agreement, and you will receive support to develop your competences in an ambitious, yet caring work environment.

Practical information and contact

If you have questions or would like to hear more about the position, you are very welcome to contact Pia Moltzen, headteacher, or Mette Boas, deputy headteacher, at phone number 89 15 40 40. We look forward to answering your questions and welcoming your application.
