Do you want operational responsibility in a modern energy department, where waste is turned into sustainable energy – and where you get real influence on development? Then you may be AffaldPlus' new operations manager in the energy department in Næstved.

We operate and maintain three production units where waste is converted into energy. The department is undergoing significant development, and we are looking for a machine engineer who wants to help set direction, optimize operations, and take responsibility in an environment with high professionalism and a great degree of independence.

About the position

You will be part of one of our seven operations teams. Each team consists of an operations manager and an operations technician, and all work in three-shift rotations. We operate three waste-based production units, a biopulp plant, as well as remote monitoring of four decentralised heat and power plants for external operators

As the operations manager, you have overall responsibility for operation and environment at all facilities during your shift. You work in a utility environment with 24/7 production, where overview, decisiveness and technical insight are crucial.

• Your tasks include, among others:
• Monitoring and control of production plants
• Production planning (electricity and heat)
• inspections and rounds
• Troubleshooting, safeguarding tasks and optimization
• Logging and reporting of environmental data
• Remote monitoring of decentralised heat and power plants
• Participation in projects
• Operation of waste cranes

In short: a technically demanding position with great responsibility and a high degree of independence.

Who are you?

You are trained as a machine engineer – preferably recently graduated and thrive in a role with both operational responsibility and practical problem solving.

We expect that you

• Are technically curious and analytical
• Take responsibility and act when action is required
• Maintain an overview – also in pressurized situations
• Have experience with process monitoring
• Are familiar with IT at user level
• Thrive in collaboration and contribute with a positive attitude
• Are willing to be on standby (travel time max. approx. 1 hour)
• Hold a valid driving licence category B
