Can you give a 14-year-old boy a sense of security in daily life?

We are seeking an engaged and caring staff member to support a 14-year-old boy in his daily life. The task is to create safety and well-being through stable adult presence.

About the assignment

You should be present as a calm and attentive adult. The boy's parents are divorced, and he lives for one week at each of them – thus the shifts will be distributed across two different homes, depending on where the boy is staying in the given week.

A large part of the task involves being able to accommodate and respect that the boy needs peace and his own space – including to play computer games in his room, which he is very fond of. It is therefore important that you enjoy being present without constant contact or conversation, while being attentive and ready to support if the need arises. At the same time, you could help to plan activities and create structure around it.

We imagine that you

• Are comfortable entering into a young person's daily life on his terms
• Can build trust through calmness, predictability and presence – without pressuring for contact
• Understand the needs of young people for privacy and their own space
• Are flexible and can operate in two different homes/family contexts
• Are stable, responsible and good at following an agreed structure
• Possibly have experience from social work, pedagogy or similar – but not a requirement

We offer

• Shifts distributed between two homes (weekly alternating residence with mother/father)
• Shifts: Monday–Friday 10:00–15:00
• Close collaboration with the area leader and the family
• Training and sparring along the way
