About the job

Family Office, Bifrost, provider of respite care (called relief) in the homes of families with children with special needs. The target group (1-18 years) ranges from children with physical and/or mental disabilities and diagnoses such as ADHD, Down Syndrome, Autism to youths with social and emotional challenges.

Content: The tasks are very varied, as they start from the individual child's interests and needs, and the most important thing is to create a good and safe relationship. In some assignments, the primary focus is to radiate and maintain calm as well as be present for the child. In other assignments, activities may be the central point; for example going on trips in the forest, to the swimming pool, playing football, jumping on a trampoline, playing games, gaming, cooking, playing with LEGO, making creative things.

We place a strong emphasis on ensuring that the employee's competences and interests can match what the child needs and desires.

Time spent with the child is about creating space for the rest of the family to get a break.

Hours: The tasks vary in both weekly hours and geographic location (Vejle Municipality and surroundings). Working hours typically range from midday/afternoon and/or evening and on weekends, which means it can be combined with studies and other work. Often the tasks are about 3-10 hours per week. Right now we also have tasks with night hours.

You can be employed as unskilled, and we also welcome applicants with relevant social/healthcare background and/or experience.

It can be an advantage if you have a driving license and a car.

• That you are engaged in and perhaps have experience with working with children and youths with special needs
• That you have a desire and willingness to meet each child on its own terms
• That you possess responsibility, care, and empathy in working with the child
• That you are ready to join in and become part of a family’s everyday life
• That you understand the family’s situation, as this form of help in one’s own home can be intrusive, and that you value good collaboration highly
• That you can take initiative regarding different activities and social time always adapted to the child’s functional level, interests and needs
• That you seek sparring from the attached family consultant about the work you perform with a high degree of independence

About us

Bifrost – flexible offers to children and youths with disabilities, consists of Kilden, Bygden and Gården, which are a combination of child/young people's homes and support placements for children with physical and/or intellectual handicap, various diagnoses and/or attachment disorders.

The Family Office is part of Bifrost and is housed at: Bygden 24, 7100 Vejle.

Employment terms

Salary according to qualifications. Employment and remuneration via Vejle Municipality.

We hire for permanent positions, and we work purposefully to create the best possible match between family/child and employee, which is why you will be called for an interview at the Family Office before you may be invited to a match meeting with a family. We hire on an ongoing basis, and your application will be active for about 3 months, after which your data will be deleted from the system.
