About the job

Can you translate heavy numbers, technical texts and facts into razor-sharp graphics, animation or film, and would you like to help us communicate about everything from fish quotas and a richer nature to clean drinking water and the EU’s chemical legislation? Then you may be our new media graphics trainee.

We are looking for an apprentice who is passionate about making things simple and understandable using visual means. Someone who wants to join our team and help us and subject-marea employees in other offices support the government’s work to set a green direction for Denmark. And not least, who wants to become skilled in their profession by using it actively.

What we offer you

As a media graphics trainee with us you will work with graphics, photography and video for use on all our channels, e.g. website, social media, press releases, reports, banners, posters etc. At the same time you will become part of a good team of press and communications advisers who work to convey the minister’s policy and ensure clear communication to the public, the media and internally. We all know a lot with words and not so much with the graphical.

Our expectations

We expect that you have completed the basic course of the media graphics education. It will be a big plus if you already have practical experience with layout of graphics for print and digital media and a good knowledge of photography and video, but it is not a requirement.

You may use AI as a tool in your work, but final products must not be AI-generated.

As an apprentice with us you become part of a team where you have the opportunity to learn, take responsibility and contribute to the daily task solving.

We also place emphasis on you

  • Being independent, responsible and proactive . You take responsibility for your tasks, follow them through and speak up if you are in doubt. You are willing to start on your own and you are happy to suggest how we can solve a task in a simple and efficient way.
  • Being service-minded and good at collaboration . You meet colleagues and partners with helpfulness, integrity and a good mood. You contribute to the community, share your knowledge and are not afraid to reach out when you need help – or when you can help others.
  • Having an interest in communication and dissemination . You have an eye for the recipient and a desire to translate information into communication that makes sense.
  • Being creative and coming up with ideas of how visual tools can support our communication . You should want to come up with ideas for how images, graphics, video, presentations or other visual tools can support our communication and make our messages more vivid and accessible.
  • Being able to maintain an overview and good humor in a busy everyday life . As an office we handle many tasks with tight deadlines, so it is important that you can stay calm and ask for help when needed.

Who are we?

You will work in the Office of Press and Communications together with seven colleagues. We work closely with Christiansborg and the government. There is not a dedicated graphic designer in the department, so you must be self-driven. But you sit close to colleagues who are used to working broadly with communication products, and who you can always ask for advice.

The Ministry of the Environment has overall responsibility for protecting the environment and drinking water, marine nature and life in the seas, the green transition of society and much more.

Tasks are solved in the department and the ministry’s agency.

The department handles ministerial services and the overall development, planning and administration of environmental legislation. The department’s main task is to create the optimal professional basis for the minister, the government and the Parliament to make decisions in the environmental area for the benefit of our surrounding society.

We are an exciting and dynamic workplace close to the political system. We continually work to develop the organization to create simple and politically relevant solutions for the government in power at any time. We have a good working environment with good opportunities to further develop your professional competences in close cooperation with capable managers and colleagues. You have good opportunities to influence your tasks and great influence on your work.

We share knowledge and believe that we find the best solutions together. We focus on good leadership and together we all operate according to the values simple, together and responsible . We believe that high professional standards can easily be combined with humor and room for a smile – even in a busy everyday life.
