About the job
Are you excited by nature and people, and do you burn to create and promote nature and outdoor experiences together with others – not least, are you interested in agency administration and board support as well as the design of outdoor opportunities in Nature National Parks? Then we may have the job for you.
Nature Agency West Jutland is seeking a Nature National Park employee with a focus on outdoor life/facilities in a temporary position until 30 June 2028. In the position, where you will become part of our Outdoor Life Team, you will have the opportunity to help solve the task of developing the Naturnationalparkerne Husby and Stråsø as well as the unit's area management more broadly.
The focus in the position is specifically to support Nature Agency West Jutland's secretariat services for the two established National Park Boards as well as development and construction of outdoor facilities in the national parks and at the same time to have responsibility for outdoor facilities on the unit's other areas.
Naturnationalpark Stråsø faces a number of applications for legally required permits and exemptions and subsequent implementation including detailed project planning. The application for the basic establishment permit has been submitted to SGAV, and a permit is awaited.
Naturnationalpark Husby is currently in a phase where the project description is being prepared, including a forthcoming public hearing, discussion in the board and political approval before regulatory work and detailed project planning.
Nature Agency West Jutland manages state forests and nature areas, in total about 25,000 ha in five West Jutland municipalities, with a particular focus on nature and outdoor life, including the two designated Naturnationalparker. In addition, we handle regulatory tasks within hunting and game management and implement projects within nature and outdoor life. Furthermore, we are active in the Green Tripartite and are responsible for climate-lower-lands, wetland, and reforestation projects.
The unit employs about 35 people in total, including 20 at the unit office in Klosterheden, located between Holstebro, Struer and Lemvig.
Tasks
You will, together with the unit's project managers for the two naturnationalparker and other staff, contribute especially within the outdoor area to applications for permits and exemptions, as well as to the design, planning and description of detailed projects, including not least planning of outdoor interventions – as well as subsequent implementation and establishment. Management and planning will take place in close and inclusive dialogue with partners, stakeholders and users, where your primary tasks will be:
- Participate in the Nature Agency's secretariat support of the two established national park boards in close cooperation with the project management at Nature Agency West Jutland.
- Apply for permits and exemptions for the implementation of the project description of Naturnationalpark Stråsø and contribute to the detailed planning of the outdoor efforts.
- Contribute to producing a politically approved Naturnationalpark Husby project description within the political and legal framework, and subsequently work with the hearing note, detailed planning and materiality assessment as well as other authority processing in collaboration with the project leader and colleagues in the project group.
- Other relevant management tasks within the unit's geography depending on your experience and professional competencies.
In addition to the above, you will also be responsible for operation, maintenance and development of outdoor facilities on areas managed by the unit, and there will be opportunities to contribute to the overall task portfolio at Nature Agency West Jutland. This could include participating in other types of projects within nature and outdoor life as well as handling tasks in the daily management of state lands and in the unit's administration.
