About the job

Have the opportunity to work within a broad range of the obstetric field.

Join our pregnancy ward for hospitalized pregnant women. Here you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the work with pregnant women with obstetric, medical and social issues and contribute to safe and cohesive care pathways.

Over the past year we have strengthened the collaboration between the pregnancy ward and the induction ward to create better coherence and greater continuity for pregnant women who require hospitalization in connection with induction of labor.

There is the possibility to combine the position with shifts in the Maternity Ward, in the Pregnancy and Labor Assessment, or in the Delivery Ward, if you wish to maintain a broad obstetric profile.

We are looking for a colleague who is interested in working with

  • Hospitalized pregnant women with, among others, threatened preterm birth, preterm labor or membranes, hypertension and preeclampsia
  • Pregnant women with medical and surgical conditions
  • Disregulated GDM, diet- and insulin treatment
  • Vulnerable pregnant women with psychological and/or social problems
  • Induction pathways where there is an indication for admission, including observation and care in the latent phase
  • Induction of labor for both outpatient and inpatient pathways
  • To create cohesive induction pathways for our hospitalized inductions.

Midwives, nurses, social and health care assistants and doctors work closely across disciplines around our inpatient patients. We value each other’s professionality and competences, and learn from each other across the departments.

We work with patient involvement based on the approach of shared decision making, where pregnant women and families are active partners in their care pathway. It is part of our continuous work with cultural change in the health service, where patients’ wishes, values and resources are actively included in decisions about the pathway in cases where there is a choice in the decision. As a midwife with us, you become part of this approach and co-create cohesive, individualized and meaningful patient pathways.

We believe that the best solutions are created together by patients, relatives and professional staff, and we work purposefully with multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure high quality and continuity in treatment.

With us you get

  • A high professional level, with focus on quality and innovation.
  • A varied workday with many different tasks, patient contacts and collaboration interfaces
  • Engaged and skilled colleagues who prioritize professional sparring, helpfulness and a good working environment
  • An workplace with high ceilings, good camaraderie and room for personal and professional development
  • Possibility to contribute to the continued cultural development, where shared decision making is an active part of everyday life, where good patient pathways are continuously developed
  • A close collaboration with our medical group and staff at the two surrounding inpatient wards, Gynecology and the Maternity Ward
  • Great influence on the shift schedule, with weekend work every 2nd or 3rd weekend
  • Shift planning with focus on balance between work life and private life
  • Thorough introduction with mentorship and training for relevant functions
  • Opportunity to work broadly within obstetrics with pregnancy, birth and maternity.

We are looking for a colleague who

  • Is passionate about working with pregnant women with complicated obstetric pathways
  • Has a high professional level and can work independently, take responsibility and make professional decisions
  • Can maintain overview and work in a structured way in a department with sometimes high patient flow
  • Sees opportunities rather than limitations and actively contributes to the development of practice
  • Values both mono- and multidisciplinary collaboration and contributes to good relations across departments and professional groups
  • Places the patient and family at the center and works to support their resources and involvement
  • Contributes actively to a safe, inspiring and developing working environment where we help each other.

Other information

Our department handles pregnancy, birth and maternity for about 5,000 women annually. There are 6 bedside rooms in the Pregnancy Ward and 2 rooms in the Induction Ward. The bedside rooms are arranged so that everyone has a private room with space for one relative.
