About the job

We have 2 maternity substitutes on a full-time basis to fill in for the period 1 December 2026 – 30 September 2027.

An employment with us offers many opportunities. We are a multidisciplinary staff group, where the mood is high and everyone helps each other.

We want to be the preferred birthplace for the families in our three intake municipalities, Silkeborg, Skive and Viborg.

In the maternity area we actively work to strengthen midwives within their reserved professional area, it creates cohesion and direction for where we put our energy and efforts.

The intention is to strengthen the spontaneous, uncomplicated pregnancy, birth and parental period among other things by preserving the clinical craft, making good professional assessments and avoiding overtreatment.

The goal is a good family formation and to send the families strengthened out into their further life.

We believe this happens best by midwives taking on tasks across their entire scope of practice – midwives therefore typically work in 2-3 different functions with us. We believe this ties pregnancy, birth and parental leave together very well.

In addition to creating good conditions for the families, it also provides an opportunity to have an exciting and varied working life as a midwife.

No matter which functions you will perform, you will be well introduced when you start, as the introduction of new employees is given high priority.

We have a well-functioning mentoring program and lots of caring colleagues who are ready to welcome you, so let us hear from you.

We are looking for you, as a midwife, because you

  • are professionally skilled and committed
  • work responsibly, independently and multidisciplinary and always are open to sparring.
  • possess presence with couples and manage to strengthen and support them based on their situation
  • know and respect your competence area
  • are stable and flexible and cover all shifts of the day including weekend work
  • are solution-oriented and contribute to ongoing development of the department, so that we together help shape the general development and improvement of maternity care and contribute consciously and positively to a good working environment

We are always curious about new initiatives to test and implement – you will be a part of this. At the moment we are, among other things, working on developing common decision-support tools, focusing on strengthening breastfeeding and we have just expanded our offering of pain relief during birth with Remifentanil.

Almost all of our initiatives are employee-driven, so there is also a great opportunity to have influence here.

Before you apply for a position with us, you are very welcome to call and have a chat with us or come for a visit to see the maternity ward and hear more about where we are and what we stand for.
