About the job

Can you translate policy into engaging and understandable content for social media? And are you interested in how to make political messages come alive in the media? Then you may be the new student in the Ministry of Finance's press and communications unit.

About the position You will become part of the press and communications unit, which is anchored in the minister and leadership secretariat at the Ministry of Finance. Our daily work is built around the minister and the rest of the Ministry of Finance.

You will work in a political environment right in the heart of the Ministry of Finance, but where there is room to think creatively and test new ideas.

We tailor your tasks to your interests and qualifications, and you can contribute, among other things, to:

  • Following the day's media landscape
  • Bringing political messages to life and making them easy to understand on social media
  • Creative content such as LinkedIn posts, videos and images for the ministry's and the minister's channels
  • Press work
  • Current and relevant news and articles for the ministry's intranet
  • Good and understandable answers to inquiries to the minister
  • Other current tasks within press and communications

You will join a team with other students, where we collectively strive to assemble a task portfolio with diverse and developing tasks.

About you We are looking for a student who is pursuing a relevant higher education (e.g., communication, media studies or another communications-related program), and who has high professionalism, takes initiative and is able to act naturally in a political environment that at times is characterized by high pace.

You are a team player with good relational skills, which you can apply in practice. You can keep an overview even in busy periods and you are approachable and service-oriented.

At the same time you are thorough, detail-oriented and proactive regarding your tasks. You must be able to handle confidential case files and work both independently and with internal and external collaborators. You must have technical savvy and a sharp pen.

You have knowledge of or interest in working with image and video editing as well as graphic work. We primarily work in Adobe's programs, and it is therefore a plus if you have prior knowledge of these.

You value having good colleagues and contribute to a good working atmosphere yourself. Most importantly, you are eager to learn. We provide thorough onboarding, you will get a mentor, and we prioritize our students' development.

It is a condition that you are exceptionally reliable and meet deadlines and agreements. You must be prepared for a certain amount of evening work, as you will join a shift system with the other students in the office.

About us In the Ministry of Finance, a wide range of tasks are handled, contributing to giving the government the best possible basis for making central political decisions and for pursuing sound economic policy.

The Minister and Leadership Secretariat consists of the minister's secretariat, the political secretariat, the secretary-general's secretariat, and the Ministry of Finance's press and communications unit.

In the Minister and Leadership Secretariat you will get a job with dedicated and skilled colleagues. With a daily life built around the minister, the secretary-general, and the rest of the Ministry of Finance's leadership, the pace is usually high. In the office we therefore place great emphasis on good collaboration, a high mood, and helping each other - especially in peak periods.

We also place great emphasis on it being fun and pleasant to go to work. Therefore we talk in the office about many other things than work tasks, just as we continuously prioritize doing various social activities with each other in the office.

Terms of employment There will be periods of high workload, where we expect flexibility on your part. We are, however, very flexible when it comes to examination periods and holidays. On average you can expect a workweek of about 15 hours, scheduled in agreement with your closest colleagues and with consideration for your studies.

Together with the rest of the students you will help to produce media monitoring, prepared every day both in the evening and in the morning – also on weekends and holidays.

You are employed under the public sector collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organizations – The State Sector (OAO joint agreement) and the organizational agreement for Office Clerks, Lab Technicians and IT employees (HK) in the state. It is a requirement that you are active as a student to be employed as a student assistant.

It is a condition of employment that you can obtain security clearance at the appropriate level and subsequently maintain the clearance throughout your employment.

The employment area is the Ministry of Finance with its associated institutions, currently the Ministry of Finance's department, State Administration, State IT, the Danish Economic Agency, and the Employee and Competence Agency.

Further information If you would like to know more about the position, you are welcome to contact the head of office for the Minister and Leadership Secretariat, Mads Damgård Hersbøll (21 55 88 28 or [email protected]).

Application Your application with CV and examination papers should be sent via the Government Recruitment Solution - Click the 'Search here' button. Submit your application no later than October 19.

We expect to hold interviews on an ongoing basis. We are seeking one student with expected start from November 1 or as soon as possible.

Tests may be part of the recruitment process.

The Ministry of Finance sees diversity as a strength and encourages all interested candidates regardless of personal background to apply. We look forward to reading your application.
