About the job

Do you have experience with monitoring, evaluation and learning? Are you familiar with the use of evaluation tools in the work to support research's societal impact? Do you want to contribute to Queen Mary’s Center's monitoring and evaluation work, especially in various climate-related and green projects in collaboration with other colleagues? Then please apply for this position.

We are seeking a methodologically strong monitoring and evaluation officer to participate in the center's evaluation unit with a focus on monitoring and evaluation tasks in research-practice projects, e.g. within the climate agenda and the green area. The projects address among other things citizens' attitudes to the green tripartite and citizen involvement in the implementation of local and national initiatives to address the climate crisis and to green transition.

The role includes among other things the development of outcome and monitoring frameworks in the projects and methods for information gathering in collaboration with the center's other staff and various partners.

The monitoring and evaluation officer will also participate in other monitoring and evaluation tasks across the center together with other center staff in the evaluation unit, such as the annual distribution of surveys to participants in all the center's activities, and collection of documentation and impact cases; as well as in the internal dissemination at the university of planning and monitoring tools for impact-oriented projects.

Queen Mary’s Center is a multidisciplinary and externally oriented center at the University of Copenhagen. We work to have humanities and social science research more involved in solving complex societal challenges.

We offer a varied daily life in a center under constant development, where there is engagement and a pioneering spirit. You will have the opportunity to make your mark on the center's work and help develop an important area within the university. We believe in a work culture where there is room to take chances and try new things rather than being afraid of mistakes. You will become part of a dedicated team of professionally strong staff who are curious about each other’s areas of work, support each other and laugh together in lunch breaks.

Your duties will include

  • Participate in coordination meetings with professional project groups, the center's evaluation officer and other relevant staff.
  • Develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks, including indicator descriptions for follow-up of each of two-to-three parallel projects.
  • Participate in planning information collection, including methods (surveys, focus groups, interviews, document collection), frequency and roles in each project.
  • Participate in collecting and systematizing monitoring information and setting up a database/archive for monitoring information for each project.
  • Participate in planning and coordinating evaluations and collecting learnings from e.g. citizen involvement processes.
  • Participate in follow-up, collection of information, documentation and preparation of impact cases from the mentioned projects and across the center.
  • Contribute monitoring information to the projects’ annual reports to grant providers.
  • Contribute with relevant information about the projects' activities and results to Queen Mary’s Center's annual results report.
  • Other tasks related to monitoring and evaluation across the center, such as e.g. distribution of the center's annual survey in SurveyExact;
  • Participate in the internal dissemination at the center and at the university more generally of planning and monitoring tools for impact-oriented projects.

We imagine that you

  • Have a relevant master's degree
  • Speak and write Danish and English
  • Have experience with the use of monitoring, evaluation and learning from projects that seek to put research into play in relation to societal change.
  • Have experience collaborating with university researchers.
  • Are method-conscious, analytical and thorough
  • Have knowledge of using Excel, SurveyExact and similar digital survey programs
  • Have experience in developing and tailoring evaluation tools so that they fit a given project or a given organizational context
  • Thrive in collaborating with a range of different staff in the center, across faculties at the university and external partners.
