Municipal Director for Høje-Taastrup Municipality

The word municipality means community, and strong communities are crucial for the cohesion of the local community. We are one of the larger municipalities in Denmark, have a sound economy, and are a municipality in development. We have high ambitions, gladly lead and dare to try new paths.

We offer a municipal director position with responsibility for both a municipality and an administration that is quite well-run and where the basic form is good. We are a development-oriented municipality that sees opportunities rather than limitations. In recent years we have grown by about 10,000 new citizens and lots of new jobs.

That is a growth we are proud of and which now also gives us a diversity among citizens that sets requirements for everything from day care centers and schools to health services and nursing homes. At the same time we are also in a reform period, where national politicians in Christiansborg have set a lot in motion, which we are already well on the way to turning into reality for our citizens.

As municipal director you will head three directorates: the Children and Youth area, the Adults area, and the City and Culture area. In addition to the three directors you have three chief officers reporting distributed across the Center for Council and Administration as well as Center for Finance and Analysis. In total there are about 4,800 employees in the municipality and about 60,500 citizens. As municipal director you will serve the Council and the Finance Committee. In addition you will become chair of the municipality's main committee, which leads a well-functioning MED-organization.

About you

You have executive experience from a larger public citizen-oriented organization and in your career you have at minimum had manager experience from a municipality. You have for several years served politicians and shown great ability in negotiation processes, budget processes and reform implementation. You have solid organizational understanding and probably a formal management education.
