About the job

Are you keen to work with complex psychiatric issues in elderly patients in a strong multidisciplinary environment?

We are seeking a neuropsychologist or senior psychologist for the Team for Geriatric Psychiatry in Gødstrup as of 1 January 2027 . You will become a central professional in the assessment and treatment of elderly patients with mental disorders, cognitive challenges and complex interactions between psychiatric, somatic and social issues.

The position offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses, including mood disorders, psychoses, anxiety disorders, dementia assessment and cognitive disturbances. Neuropsychological assessment is an important part of the work, but the position also includes broad psychiatric diagnosis, multidisciplinary evaluation and treatment planning.

The team is part of Clinic 2 at Region Hospital Gødstrup, which in addition to the Team for Geriatric Psychiatry also includes the Team for Personality Disorders, the OCD and Anxiety Team and the Depression and Mania Team.

About the position

You will be part of a close multidisciplinary collaboration with

  • Consultant in Psychiatry
  • Consultant in Internal Medicine with a special focus on somatic and medical issues
  • Specialized nurses in geriatric psychiatry
  • The Memory Clinic and other relevant collaboration partners

This organization provides a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of neurology, somatics and psychiatry, where cognitive symptoms are assessed in close relation to both psychiatric and medical issues. As a neuropsychologist / specialist psychologist you will therefore play a central role in multidisciplinary diagnostics and treatment planning.

Your responsibilities

  • Psychological and diagnostic assessment of patients in geriatric psychiatry
  • Contribute to clarification of complex psychiatric issues
  • Neuropsychological examination and testing when relevant
  • Participation in multidisciplinary conferences and treatment planning
  • Collaboration with patients, relatives and external partners
  • Multidisciplinary sparring with physicians, nurses and other professionals
  • Contribute to the professional development of the geriatric psychiatric offering

We are looking for a colleague who

  • Is a specialist psychologist in psychiatry or a specialist in neuropsychology
  • Has an interest in geriatric psychiatry and complex patient pathways
  • Has experience with or an interest in psychological and diagnostic assessment
  • Thrives in a multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Has good collaboration and communication skills
  • Wishes to contribute to the development of a specialized field

You will be part of a highly specialized geriatric psychiatric team with close daily sparring between professional groups. Neuropsychological assessments, psychiatric evaluation, somatic assessment and nursing observations are integrated continuously into a comprehensive patient assessment. This provides a strong professional foundation for diagnosing, among others, dementia diseases, affective disorders, psychoses and other conditions with cognitive symptoms.

The position is therefore particularly attractive for you who wish to work with complex diagnostic problems in an environment where the different disciplines actively support each other, and where decisions are made collectively around the patient.
