Neuropsychologist or Specialist Psychologist for the Team for Geriatric Psychiatry, Regional Hospital Gødstrup

Would you like to work with complex psychiatric issues in elderly patients in a strongly multidisciplinary environment?

We are seeking a neuropsychologist or specialist psychologist for the Team for Elder Psychiatry in Gødstrup starting on 1 January 2027 . You will become a central professional in the assessment and treatment of elderly patients with mental disorders, cognitive challenges and complex interactions between psychiatric, somatic and social issues.

The position offers the opportunity to work with a broad spectrum of psychiatric diagnoses, including affective disorders, psychoses, anxiety disorders, dementia assessment and cognitive disturbances. Neuropsychological assessment is an important part of the work, but the position also includes broad psychiatric diagnostics, multidisciplinary evaluation and treatment planning.

The team is part of Clinic 2 at Regionshospitalet Gødstrup which, in addition to Team for Elder Psychiatry, also houses Team for Personality Disorders, Team for OCD and Anxiety and Team for Depression and Mania.

You will become part of a close multidisciplinary collaboration with

• Specialist in Psychiatry
• Specialist in Internal Medicine with particular focus on somatic and medical issues
• Specialised nurses in elder psychiatry
• Memory Clinic and other relevant collaborators

This organisation gives a rare opportunity to work at the crossroads of neurology, somatics and psychiatry, where cognitive symptoms are assessed in close connection with both psychiatric and medical problems. As a neuropsychologist/specialist psychologist you therefore take a central role in multidisciplinary diagnostics and treatment planning.

Your responsibilities

• Psychological and diagnostic assessment of patients in elder psychiatry
• Contribute to clarifying complex psychiatric issues
• Neuropsychological examination and testing when relevant
• Participation in multidisciplinary conferences and treatment planning
• Collaboration with patients, relatives and external partners
• &nbsp. Multidisciplinary sparring with doctors, nurses and other professional groups
• Contribute to the professional development of the elderly psychiatric service

We are looking for a colleague who

• Is a specialist psychologist in psychiatry or a specialist in neuropsychology
• Has interest in elder psychiatry and complex patient pathways
• Has experience with or interest in psychological and diagnostic assessment
• Thrives in multidisciplinary collaboration
• Has good collaboration and communication skills
• Wants to contribute to the development of a specialized field

You will become part of a highly specialized elderly psychiatric team with close and daily sparring between the professional groups. Neuropsychological assessments, psychiatric evaluation, somatic assessment and nursing observations are integrated continuously into an overall evaluation of the patient. This provides a strong professional foundation for assessment of conditions such as dementia, affective disorders, psychoses and other conditions with cognitive symptoms.
