About the job

Do you want to contribute to quality of life, self-determination and well-being?

Then you are the one we are looking for in Organisationen Vikingevej!

Who are we?

The Vikingevej residential care home is a long-term social-pedagogical 24/7 sheltered housing after the Social Services Act (§105/85) with awake night shifts.

The facility is located at Vikingevej 31 centrally in Nørresundby and contains 21 apartments spread over two floors with good common areas and outdoor spaces.

We strive to create a safe and homely environment where residents have the opportunity to lead as independent and meaningful a life as possible.

The target group is adults with congenital or acquired brain injury and physical disabilities, often combined with cognitive challenges such as communication difficulties, memory problems and sensory difficulties. Many have a need for support with personal care, health care tasks and daily functions.

Our work is about maintaining and developing functional capacity, strengthening self-determination and creating well-being in everyday life – and here the social-pedagogical work plays a central role.

Through structured relational work, motivation and involving residents' own resources, we create frameworks for development and mastery. The social-pedagogical work helps ensure that the citizen experiences meaning, safety and participation in their own life, while we work purposefully with methods and documentation to support quality and progression in the effort.

An awake night shift at Vikingevej is about much more than supervision.

We have awake night shifts, and several of our residents need support during the night. Some need support, care or a conversation, while others need help to find calm and structure.

We also have residents who need help with various care and nursing tasks.

As a night shift worker, you help create a balance between presence for the residents who are awake and calm around the house for those who are sleeping.

You will become part of a night shift team where you are never alone. There are 2 night shifts on duty at the same time, and we help each other across the house. Collaboration, professional sparring and shared responsibility are a natural part of the work.
