Do you want to be the one to make citizen pathways, professionalism and daily operations fit together? And do you thrive in a role where you must keep an overview, prioritise and find solutions when the day does not go exactly as planned?

Then you may be the nurse we are seeking for our dispatch group in District Assentoft/Paderup.

We are looking for a nurse for a permanent dispatch position, who together with our other nurse-dispatcher will have a central responsibility for daily scheduling, weekend scheduling and the district’s on-call phone.

You will become part of a strong dispatch group and will have close collaboration with the other day-dispatcher, our evening-dispatcher, on-call planner, the cross-disciplinary teams and district management.

The position is as a rule on 37 hours per week, but a different working time can be agreed . You will mainly work daytime and without weekends. Meeting times are on all weekdays between 6:00 and 6:30 . However, there may be occasional holidays which are distributed among the district’s three dispatchers.

Start 1 December 2026 or by agreement.

A key function in a home care service in development

In District Assentoft/Paderup we work purposefully with the implementation of the Elderly Act, holistic care and the new care pathways, while our daily work still includes tasks and citizen pathways under the Health Act, the Social Services Act and the Elderly Act.

It imposes new demands on how we plan and coordinate.

Holistic care focuses among other things on coherent and coordinated citizen pathways, flexibility around the citizen’s current needs and as much continuity as possible for each citizen.

Here the dispatchers play a central role.

For us, dispatching is therefore not only about making today’s routes add up. It is about creating good and coherent citizen pathways across professions, competencies, legislation and resources – with a focus on quality, continuity and sustainable operations.

About the job

As a dispatcher you are a key person in daily operations and act as the link between citizens’ needs, employees’ competencies and the resources we have available.

You and the other nurse-dispatcher share the responsibility for daily and weekend scheduling as well as the on-call phone on all weekdays .

You must ensure that today’s tasks fit together – both when the plan holds and when it changes due to illness, acute citizen needs, discharges from the hospital or other changes in operations.

At the same time you must be able to lift your gaze from the acute operations and work systematically with good core routes, continuity and coherent citizen pathways.

Routes are planned based on citizens’ needs and employees’ competencies with a holistic approach and a focus on as few different employees as possible around the individual citizen.

Your tasks will include

  • daily scheduling and coordination of the district’s day routes
  • planning and scheduling of weekend routes
  • acting on the district’s on-call phone on weekdays together with your dispatcher colleague
  • preparation, adjustment and ongoing optimization of core routes
  • planning with focus on citizens’ needs, employees’ competencies and the greatest possible continuity
  • handling acute illness, absence and changes in daily operations
  • planning for acute tasks, new citizens and changed citizen pathways
  • coordination in connection with hospital discharges
  • prioritising tasks during capacity challenges
  • close collaboration with the district’s multidisciplinary teams and management
  • contact and coordination with among others home care assessment, clarification unit, hospitals, residential facilities and other partners
  • ongoing focus on the link between professional quality, continuity, resources, economy and the work environment.

The role thus entails both acute problem solving and longer-term planning.

You must be able to navigate in complexity

There will be days when the phone rings while a staff member calls in sick, a citizen is acutely discharged from hospital, and several routes must be changed.

Therefore we are looking for you who can create a new plan when reality changes.

You must be able to prioritise and make decisions when not all wishes can be met at the same time, and you must be able to balance the citizen’s interests with professional quality, staff competencies, the work environment and the resources we have available.

This is a position with great responsibility and at the same time an opportunity for real influence on how everyday life and citizen pathways are planned.

Who are you?

You are a licensed nurse and have a solid professional foundation.

Experience from home care, municipal nursing, scheduling or another coordinating function is an advantage, but the most important is that you have the desire and ability to work with coordination, planning and professional prioritisation .

We envisage that you

  • have a strong overview and work in a structured and systematic way
  • can handle many concurrent tasks without losing direction
  • have a view of the whole citizen pathway – not just the single task
  • think in continuity and coherence around the citizen
  • understand the importance of matching tasks with the right professional competencies
  • dare to prioritise and stand for your decisions
  • are clear and proper in your communication
  • are solution-oriented, flexible and adaptable
  • thrive on close collaboration across professional groups
  • are interested in operations and understand that professional quality and good use of resources must go hand in hand.

You must be able to navigate the pressure that can arise between the citizen’s wishes and needs, professional assessments, staff resources and the economy.

Knowledge of Nexus, including calendar and scheduling functions, is an advantage but not a requirement. We provide a thorough introduction.

We emphasise that there is a red thread between day, evening, weekend and long-term on-call planning. Therefore you will have close collaboration with both dispatcher colleagues and on-call planner.

You will also become part of a large cross-disciplinary district with social and health care aides, social and health care assistants, nurses, therapists, on-call planner, dispatchers and management.
