About the job

Do you want to work somewhere where relationships, professionalism and meaning are the most important things in everyday life?

where you not only get a job – but become part of a community you want to be part of for a long time? Then you might be the person we are looking for for the Surgical Ward 3 (Sengeafsnit 3) in Psychiatry at Gødstrup.

Are you a recent graduate or new to psychiatry? we offer you an intro position.

With us you will become part of a ward where we prioritise professional development, collegial community and psychological safety in everyday life, and we put these on the agenda. We help each other, share knowledge, talk openly about what is difficult, and continuously work on developing both our professional skills and our workplace.

We know that you don’t become proficient on your own, and that a good working life is created in a community.

We deliberately work with attraction and retention . We want to be an workplace that nurses actively choose to join, and that employees want to be a part of for many years. Therefore we work with onboarding, supervision, professional development in daily work, influence over working hours and dialogue about how work life can fit with different life phases.

About Surgical Ward 3

Surgical Ward 3 is a specialized 24/7 ward with 28 beds, where we handle assessment and treatment of patients with affective disorders and personality disorders. We also have two places for treatment of eating disorders.

We work with both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment methods, including TMS and ECT treatment, and we work interdisciplinary with a focus on cohesive and meaningful patient pathways.

From May 1, 2026, we will admit patients directly to the ward, which is an exciting development and sets new requirements for our expertise, collaboration and organization. Psychiatry is also organizationally integrated with somatics, which provides new opportunities for collaboration and holistic treatment based on the Fundamentals of Care as the conceptual framework for psychiatric nursing.

We are a staff group with both new and experienced colleagues, and we share the belief that we are professionally engaged, take responsibility, set direction and, in collaboration with clinicians, work to create the best framework for our inpatients. At the same time we place great emphasis on getting along well with each other and enjoying our work.

Professional development in everyday life

For us, skill development is largely about what happens in daily work.

You learn through onboarding, training, supervision, reflection with colleagues and experience in working with patients.

With us you do not become proficient from one day to the next – you become proficient over time. We emphasise that you are allowed to grow into the task, become confident in your work and develop professional pride in psychiatric nursing.

We prioritise supervision, sparring and training highly, and you will gradually take on more responsibility and new roles as you become ready for it.

Onboarding and retention

We know that a good start greatly influences how well you settle in. Therefore we work in a structured way with onboarding and onboarding conversations, where we together with you follow your development, well-being and learning.

We focus on you becoming part of the community, becoming confident in your tasks and experiencing your professional growth. The goal is not only that you start with us – but that you want to stay and develop with us.

We offer

  • Thorough onboarding and introduction
  • Individually tailored introductory program depending on experience
  • Mentor scheme
  • Interdisciplinary supervision
  • Onboarding conversations
  • Influence on your own shift schedule
  • Focus on balance between work life and private life

A working life that can fit different life stages

We know that working life changes over time. At times you may need to work more, at other times less. Some have young children, some pursue further education, and others may need flexibility for other reasons.

With us we focus on dialogue and opportunities to structure work so that work life and private life can fit together – and so that you can maintain your connection to the workplace through different stages of life.

Who are you?

You are curious, engaged and meet people with openness and respect. You don’t need to be able to do everything from the start – the most important is that you want to learn and want to work with people with mental illness.
