About the job
Come and join our fantastic emergency department!
You now have the opportunity to become part of our exciting department, where 2 days are never the same.
You will meet an energetic team of staff of all ages, who have broad professional knowledge and a good sense of humor.
Do you thrive on professional challenges, constant personal development, strong collegial bonds and a culture with room for diversity? Then read on and send us your application.
About us
We are seeking staff for our emergency department, which among other things is responsible for:
- 17 beds in the inpatient ward
- Trauma rooms and the emergency department in Slagelse and Næsted
- Staffing of telephone triage of emergency department patients
- Flow coordination
- As of January 1, 2027, the authority responsibility for the SOP places and acute nursing care in the four municipalities under MVH, which offers many new and exciting opportunities.
The emergency department receives and treats acute patients around the clock, primarily brought in by ambulance or referred by their GP or on-call doctor.
We mostly receive patients triaged red or orange, i.e., the most severely ill patients, others are referred to the hospital's other departments. At the same time we handle a large patient flow in our "fast-track", where patients, in collaboration with the doctors, are evaluated, stabilized and treated until transfer to the main department or discharge occurs.
We are a broad experienced team, where highly qualified staff with many years of experience from different specialties work side by side with newly graduated or upcoming nurses who go through our introductory program. The program consists of three competency cards, so you are optimally prepared for the task – always with support from your colleagues.
There are many development opportunities, including through five different roles/functions, which provide variation in the work and good chances to develop your skills.
We offer
- A structured introduction program that prepares you for the acute patient and the task.
- Great influence on your own shift schedule within defined parameters – e.g., the option to choose between every second weekend in 8-hour shifts or every third weekend in 12-hour shifts (or a combination of these).
- Unique professional challenges in working with acute patients.
- An unpredictable everyday life and a lot of interdisciplinary sparring.
- Variation in the work with the opportunity to try out different functions.
- Great responsibility with the possibility of taking on own areas of responsibility over time.
- Ongoing competence development (courses, SKILLS, ILS, ALS as well as Acute Specialization).
- Fantastic colleagues with a strong sense of community – we look after each other, and we appreciate a good laugh in everyday life (and we have a fondness for cake!).
We expect you
- Are a trained nurse and thrive in this profession.
- Are curious and proactive in your work and see the importance of keeping your knowledge up to date.
- Want to work with acute patients and are comfortable with an unpredictable everyday life.
- Are good at prioritizing tasks, even during busy shifts.
- Put the patient at the center and contribute to good collaboration with both the patient and their relatives.
- Are flexible regarding mixed shifts and take responsibility.
- Wish to be part of a diverse staff team and contribute positively with your attitude and solution-oriented approach.
- Have a good mood and are always wearing a stylish YES-hat.
It is advantageous if you
- Have a healthcare practitioner qualification.
- Have several years of experience as a nurse, preferably with hospital background.
- Are familiar with documentation in Sundhedsplatformen.
