About the job

Are you our new nurse in ENT?

PERMANENT FULL-TIME POSITION · WEEKEND SHIFTS ABOUT EVERY 3RD WEEKEND · MIXED SHIFTS · START 1 DECEMBER

One of our experienced nurses is retiring, so we are looking for a new colleague for the Ear, Nose and Throat Surgical Ward at Zealand University Hospital in Køge.

You may already have experience in ENT. You may come from another specialty, or you may be newly graduated. That isn’t decisive for us. We value that you are curious about the field, eager to learn, and want to be part of our department.

A varied everyday life with both children and adults

We have 11 beds and receive patients from across the Region of Zealand. In the ward you will meet both children and adults with various ENT surgical and medical issues. In addition, we have a day surgery department (SDK), where we perform pre- and postoperative nursing care.

Your everyday duties will include, among other things

  • care of patients before and after ENT surgery
  • acute bleeding and airway problems
  • patients for observation after specialized treatments
  • patients with tracheostomy, infections and diseases in the ear, nose and throat area
  • medical and surgical patient pathways
  • patients with cancer as well as diseases in the teeth, mouth and jaw region

You will also have close interdisciplinary collaboration with, among others, the outpatient clinic, the operating department and the Dental, Mouth and Jaw Surgery department. In our day surgery department, SDK, we receive and prepare patients for operation and provide postoperative observation.

We place importance on good collegiality

We are a mixed staff group with both experienced and newer nurses. We help each other in daily work, engage in professional sparring and still have room for humor and a good laugh.

For us it is important that you can ask for help when you need it, and that as a new colleague you are warmly welcomed. We are a department that values professional development and daily comfort.

You don’t need to know everything from the start

We provide a thorough introduction and training program that takes your experience and competencies as a starting point. You will get a mentor and will be gradually introduced to the specialty to ensure a safe start.

There are good opportunities to develop your nursing competencies, and we prioritize education, professional sparring and close collaboration across the department.

Who are you?

We are looking for a nurse who

  • is professionally curious and eager to learn
  • wants to develop their nursing competencies
  • can work independently while thriving in a multidisciplinary collaboration
  • contributes to a good working environment and collegiality
  • wants to be part of our department and take responsibility for the shared daily life
  • has Danish authorisation

If you have ENT experience, that is of course an advantage. If you have experience from another specialty, we would also like to hear from you. And if you are newly graduated, don’t hold back – we will ensure you receive the necessary introduction and training.
