About the job
Spend Christmas in Paamiut. In the Christmas temporary position you have the opportunity to bring a spouse/partner living together and one dependent child under 18 years, after further agreement with the hiring manager.
We are seeking a nurse from December 1, 2026 to January 4, 2027.
We continuously need nurses, so if you can start in 2027, we will figure that out as well.
Paamiut has about 1,250 inhabitants. In the health center there are 3-4 nurses, 1 doctor, 2 medical students, 1 physiotherapist, health aides, interpreters, porters and cleaning staff.
Queen Margrethe’s Health Center is part of the Sermersooq Health Region, where Queen Ingrid’s Health Center in Nuuk is the largest.
The health center's tasks are to promote health, prevention, examination and treatment. Some tasks are carried out by support staff who are specially trained in e.g. radiography, planned blood tests, etc. As a nurse, you will handle outpatient and emergency department work, just as you will care for inpatients in the ward and pharmaceutical functions.
As a nurse in Paamiut you have 7-10 night shifts per month, where you are on call from home from 16:00 - 08:00. We have employed 2 medical students who take daytime shifts on weekends, so on-call nurses have better opportunities for rest.
There are good, engaged colleagues. And this is a varied and very exciting job with good opportunities for development - both personally and professionally.
We are looking for nurses who
- Have broad experience, and preferably emergency experience
- Can work independently
- Have good collaboration skills and are flexible
- Like new challenges
We offer
- Introduction and sparring with the other nurses and the doctor employed at the health center
- Many different and exciting challenges
- Allowance for full Diploma in treatment nursing
