About the job

Do you want to experience Christmas in Santa's own country? Then come and become part of our sought-after intermediate care department in Nuuk.

With us you care for exciting and complex patients, where you will use all your knowledge and experience and when you are off, you can experience Christmas markets, northern lights sailing and cozy evenings with colleagues.

In a special period over Christmas and New Year you can become part of our sought-after team, down to 4-5 weeks. However, it is possible to join a longer temporary position from mid-November to mid-January.

We have a fixed tradition of a shared breakfast between IMA and ITA on 24 December, before we together go out and welcome Santa Claus when he lands in front of the hospital by helicopter.

This is for you who want to test yourself in the intermediate specialty, thrive in new professional challenges and wish to become part of a team and a department that helps each other, has good professional sparring and a strong work environment with a good reputation and high professionalism.

A place with room for development – and room for you

IMA is a unit for patients needing close monitoring and complex care. It is a department where we work with patients with medical issues including neurology, cardiology, sepsis, mono-organ failure, etc. In addition we also have surgical patients in orthopaedic surgery, parenchymal surgery or gynecology/obstetrics.

If you either do not have medical experience or have not yet dipped into surgical specialties, we will lift together and help each other. One thing we can promise – it won't be boring and you will not stand alone.

You get

  • A role where your nursing experience is highly valued – and we are happy to learn from your experience
  • A strong team that works with telemetry monitoring, High Flow treatment, CPAP and much more
  • Close collaboration with skilled colleagues including buddy pairing
  • Responsibility for max 2-3 patients at a time
  • A social department with a good atmosphere and high spirits, where you never stand alone.
  • Three days of thorough introduction.
  • 12-hour weekend shifts.

We hope you

  • Have the courage to try something new, where the learning curve can be steep.
  • Are curious about more complex nursing
  • Are passionate about good patient care and high patient safety – regardless of diagnosis, heaviness and complexity
  • Like working in an environment with room for both immersion and acute situations.

Nuuk – a capital city close to nature

Imagine starting your shift in a modern hospital department with engaged colleagues and after work standing in the winter cold with mountains on the horizon, snow in the air and the northern lights dancing overhead.

Nuuk is Greenland's capital and during Christmas the city becomes something special: Advent stars in the windows, snow-covered streets, cozy gatherings and a unique calm that descends over both town and mountains.

Here you get a meaningful and complex work life combined with a vibrant city life with cafés, culture and good colleagues – and nature right at your doorstep. Mountain trips in winter light and evenings with Christmas mood or New Year coziness are a natural part of everyday life.
