About the job

Permanent position of 32-37 hours per week, mainly evening shifts, with work every other weekend.

Will you work with older people, where psychiatry and somatics go hand in hand, then see here:

We are seeking an experienced or newly graduated nurse, with an interest in the elderly patient.

An specialty with room for the whole person

S5 is an integrated, belt-free elderly psychiatry inpatient unit with room for 14 patients. We treat patients aged 70 and over with among other things depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety and age-related psychiatric illnesses. Many of our patients also have somatic issues, so with us you have the opportunity to use and develop your competencies within both psychiatry and somatics.

A multidisciplinary community

With us, we value collegial community, work environment and professional sparring highly. We laugh together every day, and we are good at prioritizing and balancing good relationships with each other and daily professional discussions and knowledge sharing.

You will become part of a team with nurse specialists, social and healthcare assistants, doctors, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, pedagogue and social worker.

Relationships and safety are a fixed part of everyday life

At S5 we actively work with recovery, Safewards and de-escalation to prevent coercion and create secure patient pathways. We meet patients, relatives and each other with respect and curiosity. In relationship work, we emphasize patient involvement and the patient's own wishes and goals.

Mentor program with a buddy in the introduction period

Experience can be an advantage, but not a requirement. With a daily "buddy" in the introduction period, and a mentor during the first year of your employment, you have a whole team of colleagues supporting you while you get to know the ward and the specialty well.

We also offer supervision in the ward as well as learning labs and skills training in both psychiatric and somatic skills.

Opportunities for professional development and responsibility

As a nurse, you will eventually have the opportunity to take the specialty training in psychiatric nursing. We also offer training for newly employed nurses every second month, as well as onboarding for the role of on-call in evening and weekend shifts.

About the position

Permanent position of 32-37 hours per week, mainly evening shifts, with work every other weekend.

Start date is 15 November 2026.
