About the job

Is your nursing future in short-term care and in a good working environment? If that sounds interesting, please read on. We are seeking a nurse for 37 hours in mixed shifts. Employment from January 1, 2027 or by agreement.

As a colleague with us you can help shape the department professionally and build traditions socially. Preparation and Wake-up South is a 24-hour open department that receives elective and acute postoperative patients from five organ surgical specialties, radiology examinations and endoscopies. In addition, we receive patients from the wards for optimization of pain management. You will gain broad knowledge within pain and antiemetic treatment, which are core services in our recovery ward.

In addition, we receive acute patients for pre-optimization, preoperative preparations such as block and epidural placements and discharge some patient groups home postoperatively. We assist anaesthesia doctors with procedures e.g. CVK and have a special function in ultrasound-guided PVK placements in the South at AUH.

The breadth of our specialties, variation and the complexity of our patient pathways provide a varied, exciting and inspiring daily life. Wake-up has an important function in coordinating and ensuring good patient pathways, which require and give great flexibility in daily task solving.

We are a department where nursing focuses on

  • the ability, in a short time, to form an overview of nursing care and to assess the individual patient’s condition, care and treatment level
  • a nursing professional profile where propriety, care and responsibility, combined with ABCDE mastery
  • a nursing professional environment where flow and activity are a given, where the individual patient and relatives must feel individually welcomed. We are not afraid of changes when it makes sense for our patients.

As a department we are motivated by seeing people succeed and develop. We are motivated by high professional standards, where everyone contributes to a positive, constructive and learning working environment, where there is plenty of room for ambition and humor. We work closely together and therefore have the opportunity to develop clinical competencies, professional sparring and feedback to each other. Upon hire you will be assigned a mentor.

We have trainees in practice from the Intensive Care and Anesthesia education, as well as nursing students from several semesters. We have just again been nominated for the students’ internship prize for best internship site in the Central Denmark Region.

We are seeking nurses who

  • preferably have a couple of years of experience, have control of your professional skills and want to show what you can do
  • are interested in a job with a diversity of nursing tasks, where every day is different
  • can work independently and have a good overview
  • can combine nursing and technology
  • are positive and want to contribute actively both professionally and socially
  • are capable of establishing a relationship with the patient in the acute, critical and often short course.

We offer

  • a good working environment where well-being, personal development and social relations are in focus
  • humor and social fellowship, informal tone and an appreciative approach to each other
  • flexible planning of work schedules and influence on the working time planning
  • 6-8 shifts approximately every 4 weeks
  • weekend shifts approximately every 3 weeks in 8-hour shifts
  • shift meeting times are 07, 08, 10, 11, 12, 15 and 23. There is the possibility of 8, 10 and 12-hour shifts
  • approximately 40 colleagues with broad experience and a good age distribution
  • onboarding outside normal staffing in 4-6 weeks
  • follow-up with accompanying days and relevant teaching in the first 6 months.
