The Pediatric and Adolescent Admissions at Hvidovre Hospital are seeking nurses

Again this year we send nurses on to the public health nursing education and another on maternity leave, and therefore we are now looking for new colleagues. We are looking for nurses who want to work with children, young people and their families in a department where no two days are the same. Two permanent positions and a maternity cover 32-37 hours per week with weekend shifts every 3rd weekend.

The Pediatric and Adolescent Admissions at Hvidovre Hospital is one of the country’s largest with around 22,000 inquiries annually. The patient inquiries cover a broad range, from the newborn family with a troubled infant who needs advice and guidance, to children with respiratory problems or acute and life-threatening conditions such as sepsis and meningitis. Most contacts are short, where the children are discharged from the department after treatment, otherwise they are admitted for observation or further treatment on our ward.

We provide empathetic and competent nursing at a high professional level and we work closely with the department’s doctors and secretaries. We place great emphasis on cross-disciplinary knowledge sharing, learning and education and practice this daily. We also work with cross-disciplinary emergency team training which is mandatory and well integrated into the department. Here we focus on roles, communication, and integrating the most up-to-date knowledge and practices in pediatrics.

If needed we provide debriefing/supervision around special cases involving critically ill children and adolescents.
• A shift planner who is trained as a nurse himself and who therefore has an eye for making shifts align with family life.

• You are good at communicating with people of all ages and can build trust with children, young people and adults.
• You are open, flexible, creative and enterprising and are not afraid of the playful and different approach to patients.
• You place a high value on good collegiality.
• You must be able to work in a three-shift system.

Pediatric experience is not a requirement but an advantage. We believe that everyone brings something to the table, whether you are newly trained or have experience from other specialties. Whatever you bring, the will and desire to work with children and families is the most important.

Salary and employment terms follow the agreement for non-management staff within the Health sector area negotiated between the parties of the Health Cartel, including the Danish Nurses Organization and the Regions’ Payroll and Tariff Board with salary placement as a nurse without specialized training.
