About the job

The positions are to be filled January 1, 2026, or by agreement.

About us

The department has 18 beds as of January 1, of which 10 are dedicated to internal medicine and 8 to orthopaedic surgery.

Orthopaedic surgery

Our orthopedic surgical patient category consists of acute patients admitted with hip fractures, other fractures after accidents/trauma, amputation patients and wound patients.

Internal medicine

Our medical patient category mainly comprises patients with lung-related diseases and circulatory disorders. In addition, patients are admitted for medical assessment with infectious diseases, cancer diseases, nutritional problems or pain issues.

The vision is a stronger collaboration between the two specialties, including medical rounds on orthopedic surgical patients.

The variation within the two categories is large, so you will experience a very varied daily life. We also receive ENT patients for observation the first day after surgery, on agreed days.

You will have good opportunities to gain broad knowledge of medical and orthopedic surgical diseases and follow both short- and long-term courses. We focus on the good and coherent patient pathways, where a good discharge starts at admission. That is, in collaboration with among others the patient and relatives we plan discharge and return home already at admission, so the patient is confident in the process.

As a nurse with us your tasks will primarily be to plan, perform and assess the nursing care for our patients in their treatment course. There will be both practical instrumental tasks, as well as administrative tasks.

The department is buzzing with initiatives in development and research.

  • Project, which is now in operation. TETON is an AI-driven system that supports care. The system is a tool that improves care by providing tailored alarms for individual patients so staff can respond promptly and prevent possible falls. TETON allows care staff to dedicate more time to one-to-one interactions, which improves overall quality of care.
  • Two-year project, recently started, in collaboration with PhD students from our research unit.

The purpose of the project is to develop and test an intervention program to strengthen nursing care for frail elderly patients, so this patient group to the greatest extent retains their functions from before admission. The program focuses especially on nursing within the physical, relational and psychosocial elements of nursing.

In addition, you should also expect pedagogical and teaching tasks with respect to nursing students, social and health care assistant students and ambulance treatment students, all of whom come here in practical training as part of their education.
