Nutrition Assistant / Kitchen Assistant

Nutrition assistant / kitchen staff/ ”nutritional sole responsibility” sought for Hejnsvig Kindergarten.

The position is 22.5 hours per week with start on 23 November 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

We seek an engaged and professionally grounded kitchen staff member to cook for 50-60 children and to run the kitchen, which is centrally located as the “heart” of our lovely kindergarten.

We emphasize that you

• have a relevant nutritional / kitchen-related education
• thrive on having a lot of responsibility and being the “only in the field”
• can plan, purchase and prepare a nutritionally correct and varied diet mainly for lunch, but also for mid-morning and afternoon meals
• can work independently regarding menu planning and organizing your own work – and at the same time be open to input from the pedagogical staff.
• have an interest in developing the children’s food culture
• are inclusive, creative and have pedagogical sense for involving the children in parts of the cooking
• have good relational skills and a positive, acknowledging approach in contact with children, parents and pedagogical staff
• can perform self-checks
• can adhere to the financial framework – and have experience in avoiding food waste
• are robust, flexible and reliable
• can use IT for purchasing, meal planning and documentation of “kitchen moments” with children

The kindergarten is located in a small town community with an active local environment, where there is good cooperation between the day care, kindergarten, school and local associations.
