Nutrition assistant or home economist for production kitchen at Hvalsø Nursing Home

Are you trained as a nutrition assistant or a home economist, and are you passionate about cooking from scratch for elderly residents?

We are looking for an engaged and professionally skilled colleague for our production kitchen at the nursing home, where we daily prepare meals for 39 residents.

With us, the meals are an important part of the residents' everyday life and quality of life. Therefore, we are looking for a colleague who focuses on quality, nutrition and good taste experiences, and who is motivated to make a difference for our residents through well-prepared meals.

About the position

In our kitchen, food joy, quality and homemade meals are at the center. We prioritise that the food is, as far as possible, prepared from scratch with a focus on organic produce, good ingredients, nutrition and variety.

You will become part of a small kitchen team of three employees who together plan, produce and serve the day’s meals. We help each other across tasks and emphasise good collaboration, where everyone contributes to daily operations.

At the same time, you will be part of a multidisciplinary collaboration where food is seen as an important part of residents' well-being, health and daily life.

The nursing home also has an attached nutritional consultant who contributes with professional sparring and advice on nutrition, dietary forms and meal solutions. The consultant can, among other things, support work around residents with special nutritional needs, including undernutrition, chewing and swallowing problems or need for energy-dense meals.

Your tasks

Preparation of breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Production of food from scratch with a focus on quality, variety and nutrition. Menu planning in collaboration with colleagues. Ordering and handling of goods. Ensuring self-control, hygiene and food safety. Contribute to good dining experiences for residents. Collaboration with care staff and the nutritional consultant on residents’ nutritional needs.

We expect that you

Are trained as a nutrition assistant or home economist . Have an interest in cooking for older people and an understanding of the target group’s needs. Are passionate about homemade food and good ingredients. Work independently, structured and responsible. Are flexible and cooperative. Have knowledge of hygiene and self-monitoring programs. Contribute positively to a good working environment.

Working hours

The position is 37 hours per week.

Working hours are mainly daytime between 6:30 AM and 5:00 PM. There may also be weekend work on special occasions.
