About the job

Skansegården is seeking an employee with a nutritional background or nutritional experience, who can assist our two colleagues in the kitchen with the daily preparation of food and operations.

We offer a permanent position of 15 hours per week in daytime hours spread over about 3-4 days per week Monday to Friday.

Skansegården is a hostel for the homeless, where we every day work to create a safe base for our residents so they can regain footing in their lives. Our resident group has complex issues and is a difficult place in their lives when they come to us, but many enjoy coming and having a chat and a cup of coffee in our kitchen.

Skansegården's kitchen prepares lunch service on weekdays, so our 72 residents have the opportunity to buy a healthy and nourishing meal. Food is prepared for about 30-50 people.

We offer a dynamic workplace with 40 dedicated employees. You will have varied tasks in the kitchen and you will be part of a collegial community with an informal tone, where there is room for both humor and care for each other.

Most important for us is that you

  • Either have a professional background as chef, culinary assistant, nutrition assistant, sandwich maker or bachelor of nutrition and health OR have experience with kitchen work
  • Are accommodating, inclusive and flexible
  • Have a good overview, are engaged and can work independently and in a structured way
  • Have a sense for quality, economy and hygiene

It may be that you are approaching retirement age but do not wish to leave the labor market yet or you have a family where it fits well to have fewer hours or something completely different, we are open.

Your tasks

You will together with a full-time colleague and a part-time colleague have responsibility for the daily operation of the kitchen with the following tasks:

  • Preparation and serving of hot and cold food
  • Clear up and close down the kitchen
  • Packaging of food for freezing/refrigeration
  • Ordering with Hørkram and receiving goods
  • Prepare menu plans considering economy, health, food waste, season and with broad variation
  • Carry out self-monitoring and document the check in e-smiley
  • Work according to the Danish Food Authority's applicable legislation regarding hygiene and ensure the kitchen meets the applicable requirements
  • Contribute to the appropriate operation of the kitchen including management of the kitchen's finances

Center for Care and Treatment

Skansegården is part of Center for Care and Treatment, which consists of the following main areas:

  • Homelessness, where we have three §110 offers: Skansegården, Solvang and Skovporten. We have a total of 120 places for people affected by homelessness. In addition, we have a §85a housing support program, where we work with CTI and ICM with residents moving into their own housing.
  • Treatment, where we offer outpatient substance treatment for people with drug and alcohol dependency. We have two outpatient clinics, located in Hillerød and Hørsholm
  • Educational organization, where we offer courses aimed at the social and pedagogical field, including education in cognitive and narrative addiction education as well as courses in MI (Motivational Interviewing)
  • ANT-Courses aimed at citizens who have had driving bans, a conditional or unconditional revocation of their driver's license

In CFB we therefore focus on several professional perspectives that characterize the vulnerable citizen/resident's life. We utilize both offering substance abuse treatment and social-pedagogical interventions for citizens affected by homelessness. This, together with our good collaboration with municipalities and hospitals, enables us to offer a holistic approach to citizens/residents
