Assistive devices and ADL training for children and adults in a wonderful mix. The ortho-, neuro-, psychiatric-, and citizen group is diverse; in your work tasks you must be flexible.

Looking out over fjord and mountains, maybe a polar bear, if you’re lucky. The work calls in several towns, provided you don’t shy away from a helicopter ride. We do not have dogs and sleds, but we warmly welcome your application. Get started, trim that beard, and seize this unique opportunity.

If we summarize, we are looking for an occupational therapist for South Greenland. The position is split half-time in the municipality and half-time at Qaqortoq Hospital, and you will move around all kinds of diagnoses in all possible categories.

We work with citizens and patients of all ages, and the work tasks include

· rehabilitation, restorative and maintenance training

· assessment and treatment

· training in citizens’ homes and at the Therapist House, and home visits with assessment and provision of assistive devices in the municipality

At the hospital you will handle both clinical and administrative tasks, including assessment and treatment of inpatients and outpatients, and you will participate in an interdisciplinary collaboration with the hospital's other professional groups.

You will have your workday in Qaqortoq, and divide your time between the municipality and the hospital, where some tasks belong to one place and others to the other. We will of course help you to orient yourself. The work also involves travel to the other towns and settlements in the municipality, for both the municipality and the hospital, and it is mostly for a duration within a workweek. And the transport is as described: by helicopter, or by boat, as there are no roads between towns and settlements.

You will find yourself challenged by things you have not tried before, and it takes a bit to think outside the box – but we help each other.

Employment terms under the collective agreement for occupational therapists in Greenland, which among other things include a start-up trip, relocation of belongings and staff housing.
