About the job
Do you like keeping track of numbers, having a view on your job, development, flexibility and good colleagues?
Then we may have the job for you.
One of DTU’s most important tasks is to deliver research for the benefit of society. A large part of the research takes place in projects funded by a wide range of private and public grant providers. It requires a solid grasp of financial management when projects are created, salaries and intercompany settlements are reconciled, invoices and accounts are prepared, and documentation is kept up-to-date for the grant providers. This is part of the engine room you will become part of as a finance assistant.
You will work closely with DTU's Project Controllers on the financial management and follow-up of research projects. In addition to classic financial tasks, you will have the opportunity to develop your competencies within project economics, budget monitoring and financial management of externally funded projects. In other words, you can look forward to variety in the tasks and plenty of opportunities to learn new things – in a positive and supportive environment, where you are surrounded by good colleagues to spar with.
What you will be working with
You will be part of a service function, so you will be in contact with many different people. It is therefore essential that you enjoy helping others, are proactive, outgoing and thrive with a broad contact surface.
Examples of tasks in the team are
- Salary reconciliation
- Creation of projects
- Reposting of postings
- Preparation of invoices
- Reconciliation of intercompany settlements
- Retrieval of documentation for audit
- Preparation of financial statements for grant providers
- Preparation of financial analyses and follow-up material for Project Controllers
- Participation in reporting to internal and external stakeholders
A daily life with opportunities to develop yourself
We are looking for someone who thrives with administrative and accounting tasks, but who also wants to develop within project controlling.
If you already have experience with project economics, that is an advantage. If you are new to the area, you will have the opportunity to build your competencies along the way. Depending on your experience and interests, you can gradually take on more controller-related tasks and greater responsibility for the financial follow-up on the projects.
Who are you?
We imagine that you
- Have an office education, preferably in economics. The most important thing is that you have a flair for numbers, and that you work meticulous and detail-oriented
- Are flexible and quickly can get up to speed on new tasks
- Work independently and in a structured way and want to contribute to development
- Have a desire to learn. Whether you are a recent graduate or have many years of experience is less decisive, as the tasks will be tailored to you
In addition, it is advantageous if you have knowledge of grants from the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, or if you have knowledge of Oracle Cloud, which is our HR and financial system.
Your new workplace is in Hirtshals
Yes, Hirtshals. It is here you will have your daily presence on DTU’s campus and become part of our finance function, which with you will consist of four people. You will become part of a professional environment with focus on research and education within the maritime sector.
And we also mean it when we say that work life and leisure should fit together. Management focuses on you generally keeping your 37-hour work week, and flexibility is an embedded part of everyday life. Of course there can be periods with peak workloads, for example around reporting and accounts closure.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Salary and terms of employment
Salary and terms of employment in accordance with the OAO-S joint collective agreement and organizational agreement for clerical functionaries, laboratory technicians and IT employees (HK/Stat).
In addition, allowances can be negotiated according to DTU's pay structure for HK Office: www.inside.dtu.dk/human-resources/under-ansaettelsen/loen/loenstrukturer .
Workplace is DTU Hirtshals Campus.
