On-call pedagogical substitutes sought for a newly started autism service in Gribskov

Be part of taking responsibility to create clear frameworks and stability for citizens with complex challenges. Become part of the temporary staff corps at HabitusHuset Holbo between Helsinge and Græsted.

This is the job for you who want to become an on-call substitute at a residential care home, where we work every day to support and assist residents with special needs.

As an on-call substitute at Habitus you can expect long shifts (typically from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM every day), which gives you few working days and thus high flexibility in your private life. You will every day work together with colleagues who, like you, are passionate about helping those who are most in need. You can look forward to close collaboration in the fixed team around the resident as well as with the rest of the house in daily sparring.

With us you get a lot of responsibility and the opportunity to take ownership of your tasks. You become an important part of the house with the possibility to make independent decisions. Sparring is also a natural part of everyday life, where we are curious about each other and our differences.

As there can be outwardly aggressive behaviour, physically as well as verbally, a professional approach is expected that enables you to maintain calm and overview in complex situations, while also reflecting on the underlying behaviour.

We expect that you have

• Possibility to take 4-6 shifts per month
• A relevant pedagogical or health-related education – such as educator, pedagogical assistant, teacher, social worker, occupational and physiotherapist, SOSU assistant or nurse (must have an interest in the pedagogical field)
• Familiarity with autism, TEACCH and working with people with mental health challenges
• A flexible approach to working hours, including weekends
• A professional approach that allows you to show calm even when the waves are high
• A high degree of empathy, honesty and willingness to take responsibility
• Experience with personal care – otherwise we will teach you
• Driver's license B

About HabitusHuset Holbo

We are a newly established pedagogical residential care facility that provides the framework for citizens with complex developmental challenges. The house is located in a scenic and quiet area in North Zealand. The facility is surrounded by open green landscapes, forest areas and field trails, which are characteristic for Græsted and the local area around Gribskov.

The surroundings are characterized by homeliness, manageability and sensory-stimulating opportunities that create security and support the residents’ well-being and development. The surroundings provide good opportunities for nature-based activities, peaceful walks, structure in daily life and an environment where residents can develop at a pace and in a way that matches their individual needs.

As a §104, 107 and 108 facility, every resident has their own apartment and shares common areas both indoors and outdoors, which creates opportunities for residents to socialize to the extent they are capable, to go out into nature, and to develop through the many sensory impressions they find there, while also having the option to retreat when they need to find calm.

Although we are a new residential care facility, we already have as part of Habitus a strong professionally grounded pedagogical method, but it is also an opportunity for you to help create a new culture and build the right structures around our residents that best support their development
