On-call substitutes wanted - one or two Personal Assistants (handicap helpers) for relief shifts

Substitute caretakers wanted - one or two Personal Assistants (handicap helpers) for substitution shifts in a 24-hour arrangement in weekly pay 4400 Kalundborg, in my fixed team, with potential to transition to a permanent position in the long term. It is important to me that you are able to step in at short notice.

I can already offer a shift on Wednesday the 9th and on Thursday the 10th of December 2026. All shifts are 07:00 to 07:00.

I am a lively woman, living in Ugerløse, Kalundborg Municipality, where horse riding competitions are a big part of everyday life. Therefore, experience with horses and handling horses is a major wish.

I am a 42-year-old woman with cerebral palsy. I live in a terrace house in Ugerløse, Kalundborg municipality.

I am looking for one or two people who have time and willingness to become permanent substitutes in my team with the possibility, if we fit well together with me and in the team, to become part of my well-functioning team, which consists of a small handful of stable employees. Shifts are 24 hours in length (07:00-07:00), where you sleep but are woken when I need help to go to the toilet or with the blanket during the night.

The days are among other things filled with my great passion which is horses and equestrian sports. I practice the Western discipline of Reining with my wonderful horse Goldy: a 15-year-old American Quarter mare.

We are a good match, and participate in competitions both domestically and internationally; we have become Danish champions several times, as well as European champions in 2021 and 2022, and I dream of one day being able to participate in the World Championships. In the spring-summer season I also practice Frame Running, where I won gold in the 40, 60 and 100 meter distances at an international event in the summer of 2025.

Besides equestrian sports I am interested in the disability policy field and have been involved in both documentary programs and campaign films, including Mormor’s Bordel with Karen Thisted and Suzanne Bjerrehus. I also enjoy a good concert or a cinema visit when there is occasionally some energy left for it.

I need help with personal care, dressing and undressing, and other forms of practical help at home, such as setting the table, vacuuming, etc. I have standing function with support and 90% function in my right hand. I have no independent gait function, except with support I can take a few steps. I have a transfer platform for use when moving between, for example, a wheelchair and the toilet and between a wheelchair and a bed. I use an electric wheelchair, which I operate myself with my right hand when I move inside or outside.

I am seeking a responsible and empathetic person for my team

I am looking for someone who has availability in the calendar, especially on weekdays, to take a temporary shift once in a while due to illness or vacation in my fixed team. I imagine that you may already work as a personal assistant/helper or another job where you do not work every day and therefore have some fixed days, and you would then be able to step in and help me as a substitute. I imagine you are a person who loves animals, and if you have experience with handling horses that is a big plus.

I imagine you can see yourself in a structured everyday life. I have my own car (van with manual transmission). I do not have a driver's license, so it is therefore necessary that you have a category B driving license, and it is very much a plus if you have an E (trailer) license, as there are situations where it would be nice to be able to drive my horse.

I offer a smoke-free work environment, as well as a private staff room. I place great emphasis on a good working environment and see it as a shared responsibility to ensure this. I therefore value positive and open communication, which ensures a high level of well-being for everyone in the team.

You will be employed by A Priori, which conducts criminal and child protection checks upon hire

The salary follows the applicable tariff for handicape helpers which as of 01/04-2026 amounts to 162.34 DKK per hour plus shift allowance; questions about this can be directed to the consultants Bo Andersen or Gitte Jensen at tel: 93404848 on weekdays between 09:00 - 15:30
