About the job

Would you like to be part of a strong professional community where highly specialized operating room nursing goes hand in hand with care, collaboration and development?

We are looking for two operating room nurses for our dedicated team

Who are we?

At the Gynecological-Obstetric Operating Department at Hvidovre Hospital you will become part of one of the country’s largest gynecological-obstetric units. Every day we meet women and families in some of life’s most meaningful and vulnerable situations. We work with both planned and acute operations, where high professional quality, patient safety and presence are the focus of our work.

We are a dedicated team consisting of 20 operating room nurses and 1 hospital attendant, who place collaboration, professional sparring and a good working environment high on the agenda. We help each other, share knowledge and believe that the best results are created in collaboration.

Our specialty

We have an exciting and varied daily life with both elective and acute patients.

Within obstetrics we work among other things with

  • Elective and acute cesarean sections
  • Operations for complications after childbirth

Within gynecology we perform among other things

  • Laparoscopic operations, including robot-assisted surgery
  • Hysteroscopies
  • Vaginal and abdominal operations
  • Acute gynecological surgery

The specialty provides a unique opportunity to develop broad operating room nursing competencies, where no day is the same.

We offer

With us you get a workplace where both professionalism and well-being are given high priority.

We offer among other things

  • A strong professional environment with engaged and experienced colleagues
  • Thorough introduction and individually tailored training program with a mentor
  • A well-functioning interdisciplinary collaboration with surgeons, anaesthesia and other partners
  • Good opportunities for professional development and competency development
  • Influence on your own on-call schedule
  • A good social community with room for humor, care and camaraderie
  • An department where we value initiative, shared responsibility and the desire to develop both oneself and the specialty

We are looking for a colleague who

  • Is a trained nurse. It is advantageous if you have operating room experience, but not a requirement, as we ensure thorough training in the specialty.
  • Works in a structured way and keeps an overview even when pace is high
  • Focuses on quality, patient safety and care
  • Is a positive and engaged colleague
  • Wants to actively contribute to the development of operating room nursing and the department
  • Contributes to a good working environment where we help each other and lift together

The most important thing for us is that you want to be part of our community and contribute with your professional skills.

With us you become part of a department where professional pride, development and good collegiality go hand in hand. Together we create the best framework for the patients and for each other.

Working hours

We work in a two-shift arrangement on weekdays with

  • 8-hour day shift
  • 16-hour evening/night shift

On weekends and holidays there are 24-hour shifts, where the first 8 hours are active service followed by on-call duty from the duty room.

We expect you to take part in the on-call schedule with about one on-call shift per week and on average every 4th weekend.
