About the job

When Operations, Chartering and Business Functions work closely together, better decisions follow. That belief is part of how we work at NORDEN. We bring different perspectives together, share knowledge openly and work as one team to support our customers and our business.

One moment you are discussing a customer request, reviewing operational priorities or helping find a solution when plans change, the next you are supporting a team member through a vessel challenge. While you and your team are trusted to make decisions, you are never on your own. You will work alongside specialists in areas such as Bunkers, Fuel Efficiency and Risk Management, giving you access to deep expertise and insights when navigating complex operational decisions.

In our Operations team in Annapolis, curiosity is not just encouraged. It is part of how we work. Together, we oversee the execution of vessels trading around the world, solve challenges as they arise and work closely with customers and colleagues to deliver the level of service they expect from us.

Why this role?

Operations sits at the centre of our business. Every day, you will be working with customers, owners, agents, terminals and colleagues across our global network to ensure vessels are executed safely, efficiently and with a high level of service.

As our new Operations Manager, you will be responsible for your own vessels while remaining close to the business itself. This is a role for someone who want to improve ways of working and navigate both routine execution and unexpected challenges.

You will join a collaborative team where knowledge is shared openly, questions are encouraged and colleagues support each other in finding solutions. At the same time, you will be trusted with significant responsibility and have the opportunity to shape both your own development and the operational performance.

For this position, candidates can expect an annual base salary in the range of USD 100,000- 130,000. In addition, we offer a competitive insurance package and paid vacation.

What you will be doing

You will have the opportunity to

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of several vessels in the fleet.
  • Manage your own defined area of responsibility with focus and accountability.
  • Coordinate closely with internal teams, vessels, agents, charterers and owners to ensure smooth voyages.
  • Play a key role on a collaborative team focused on providing high-quality service.

The position is fully on-site in our office in Annapolis.

What you will bring

With an internal collaboration and external goaloriented mindset and attention to detail, you handle both daily operations and unexpected challenges with ease. You communicate clearly and effectively, whether working with colleagues, vessels or external partners. Further, we are looking for a colleague who:

  • Are eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship (U.S. citizen or Green Card holder).
  • Has a minimum of 2 years’ experience in vessel operations ashore.
  • Possesses good IT skills and a solid understanding of operational systems and processes; experience.
  • Has experience with meticulous data entry.

Besides this you are stay solutions-focused even when deadlines are tight.

Application

Please upload your motivation letter, resume and relevant diplomas via our website as soon as possible and no later than 31 October 2026. Your motivation letter helps us understand what drives you, why you are interested in the role, and how your skills and experiences could contribute to the team. We are especially interested in your motivation and transferable skills, not a recap of your CV. It is your opportunity to tell us the story behind your application.

We review and interview candidates on an ongoing basis.

We will do our best to get back to you at least within ten working days after the application deadline, 31 October 2026.

In NORDEN we value a range of perspectives, educational backgrounds and professional experience and encourages all qualified candidates to apply.
