About the job
Do you have cold/gray fingers, leadership experience and are you a team player?
Then you are exactly what we are looking for as a new leader in Operations Road (Drift Vej) in our wonderful, green municipality. Here you get a visible leadership role close to both employees and daily operations – with the opportunity to make a real difference in how we solve our tasks and develop Drift Vej. We are looking for someone who thrives with leadership close to everyday work and who has an eye for the continued development of our operations.
Arealdrift in the Center for Areas and Properties is seeking an experienced operations manager for the operations unit Drift Vej. In Arealdrift we are about 80 employees with different professional backgrounds, education and experience. As the municipality's operations department, our tasks range from maintenance of public road areas, plazas and winter service to operation, care and maintenance of the municipality's green areas and municipal cemeteries.
We are seeking a new and preferably experienced operations manager for Drift Vej, who will create the best framework for the employees and contribute to ensuring that the municipality's operations tasks are solved efficiently and with high quality.
What is the framework for the job?
You will become part of the operations leadership together with your leadership colleagues in Drift Grøn and Drift Kirkegårde, and you will be tasked with ensuring good and proper leadership of the approx. 15 employees in Drift Vej, whom you will be responsible for.
We focus on more leadership close to the task, so employees see and can consult with their leadership in daily work. If you are a team player who believes that 2 plus 2 makes 5, we would love to hear from you.
With reference to the Head of Arealdrift you as operations leader will be responsible for daily operations, task solving and leadership of your own area. You will focus on high professionalism, operation optimization and good service to benefit residents and users of the municipality. This happens in close cooperation with your other colleagues in the management team.
What tasks will you perform?
On your to-do list is
- Daily prioritization and qualification of tasks
- Personnel management, including creating motivation, well-being and job satisfaction
- Optimal task management and consistency in task execution
- Systematic conduct of performance appraisals (MUS) meetings, handling sick leave etc.
- Guarantee for good and clear collaboration internally and externally, e.g. through good and clear communication
- Responsible for your own operations team and management of the joint budget in Drift Vej
You will be part of the team that in shifts handles operational duty and winter service. At the same time you will join a management team focused on collaboration and cross-disciplinary task solving.
What do you bring with you?
- You feel confident and comfortable in a leadership role, and you will, together with your employees, work for efficient operations through expertise, mutual trust and good well-being in your drift unit
- You have solid leadership experience within road maintenance, paving and quality descriptions and preferably know the municipal sector from a similar position
- You may also have some experience with drainage and sewers, which we inevitably come into contact with when we work on the road
- You are able to create overview and coherence between tasks at both the strategic and operational levels
- You have a sharp eye for constructive solutions
- You are a natural and positive role model when there is a need to challenge the “we’ve always done it this way” culture
- You are curious about new methods and efficient task solving
- You know that as a leader in a political system you must nurture good relationships and collaborate closely with the rest of the administration
- You are good at communicating in connection with citizen inquiries and councilors – and you also master speaking to contractors in their language
- You know that structure and plans are important to reach goals
You can read about the municipality's leadership and employee foundation and in our leadership competency profile on the municipality's website.
