Herbertgaard Residential Facility seeks healthcare professionals

Herbertgaard Residence is a 24-hour institution for children and adolescents aged 12-18 (with the possibility of aftercare up to 23 years). Our target group is children and youths with attachment and attention disorders, who typically have social, behavioral and/or learning problems. Common to our residents is that they need a special pedagogical approach, secure stable frameworks and a structured predictable daily life.

As staff at Herbertgaard Residence you play an important role for each resident.

In the pedagogical work with our children and youths we place emphasis on

• That together with the child/youth we set goals for their well-being and development.
• That we work in an appreciative and relationship-oriented manner.
• That we engage the child/youth to be actively/curiously participating.
• That we document development processes and results in writing.
• That we collaborate with external professional actors connected to the child/youth.
• That we collaborate with and guide the relatives.
• That we convey method, goals and development status of the residents to colleagues.

The ideal candidate

• Is trained nurse or healthcare assistant.
• May have experience with treatment work.
• May have experience in working with placed children and youths.
• May be familiar with narrative method and treatment work.
• Is engaged and dares to take responsibility.
• Is adaptable and can therefore handle unpredictable and suddenly arising situations.
• Has a flair for interacting with children and young people with treatment-demanding issues.
• Has good written and oral communication skills.
• Has basic IT knowledge.
• Has a standard driving license (category B).

There may be a full-time position or part-time. The working hours are varying and include day, evening - night shifts (sleeping night shift) as well as weekends and holidays.
