Organ consultant wanted - East

The position as organ consultant in the Diocese of Copenhagen, Helsingør, Roskilde and Lolland-Falster is hereby announced with appointment from 1 January 2027. The position is time-limited to 4 years and expires on 31 December 2030.

The position is a side job.

Profile

The organ consultant must have completed a church music diploma from a Danish music conservatory or an equivalent approved foreign degree. The person appointed to the position must not have a financial interest in companies that manufacture, trade in, or repair organs or accessories for organs.

Tasks

The organ consultant's area of expertise is organ matters and other issues of significance for musical performance in the churches. The organ consultant shall provide, upon request, a statement in matters related to the consultant's field. In addition, the organ consultant provides advice and guidance to parish councils and deanery committees that request it.

The organ consultant also participates as needed in the diocese's consultant rounds, where we visit churches in the diocese where a parish council has wishes or plans for a project.

During the consultant rounds, the project is discussed with the parish council, and where the organ consultant applies their professional expertise together with the diocese's other consultants. About 4 consultant rounds are held per year in each diocese.

As an organ consultant you act as an advisor to the church authorities according to the rules in:

Please note that the Ministry of Health and Ecclesiastical Affairs expects to issue revised administrative regulations for consultation during September 2026. There is an planned change in the consultants' areas of expertise, and the changes will therefore be of significance for upcoming appointments. The ministry expects to adopt the administrative regulations in October–November 2026.

It is important to note that as an organ consultant you must not undertake project-design tasks for parish councils within the diocese you are employed in, unless the diocese exceptionally approves it.

Remuneration

The remuneration as of 1 January 2026

• Consultancy cases pursuant to § 8 of Circular no. 9779 of 6 October 2009 on the joint instruction for the Church of Denmark's consultants: 1,236.00 DKK per hour.
• Declaration cases pursuant to § 7, sec. 1, of Circular no. 9779 of 6 October 2009 on the joint instruction for the Church of Denmark's consultants: 1,854.00 DKK per declaration.

The remuneration is increased by 12.5% holiday pay, while no VAT is to be added.

Rates are adjusted annually on 1 January.
