Can you play so that the angels sing and the congregation sings along?

A position as organist at Hjembæk and Svinninge Churches is available from 1 December 2026.

The position is 28 hours per week.

The organist shall undertake the following tasks

· Play for worship services and religious ceremonies

· Play for nursing home services, and

· for weekday services

· Choir direction and occasional annual concerts

At the same time it should be noted that there may be outdoor services and ceremonies as well as substitutions in Kundby Church.

Hjembæk-Svinninge parish has 3,789 inhabitants, 8 staff in the parish. The parish is characterized by a good engagement with the Church of Denmark, beautiful old churches, and a good atmosphere between the parish council and the parish's staff.

The organ in Svinninge Church was built by Conrad Christiansen in 1972 with 11 stops, two manuals and a pedalboard.

The organ in Hjembæk Church was built by Th. Frobenius & Sønner in 1969 with one manual and four stops.

Employment is by Hjembæk -Svinninge-Kundby parish council located Katrinedal 13, 4520 Svinninge.

Employment of a church musician will be covered by the Common Contract between the Danish Ministry of Finance and CO10 and the organizational agreement between the Ministry of City, Rural and Church Affairs and CO10 – Central Organization of 2010 for church officials with core duties such as parish clerk, church and cultural worker or church musician and the accompanyingprotocol for church musicians.

The employment of an organist with a degree as “Church musician with Organ and Choir Leadership” or an organist with a PO degree is covered by the Agreement between the Ministry of City, Rural and Church Affairs and CO10 – Central Organization of 2010.

Organists with a church music master's or bachelor's degree are covered by the protocol to the academic agreement on the contractual employment of DOKS- organists and permanent teachers at church music schools entered into between Akademikerne and the Ministry of City, Rural and Church Affairs. The agreements can be seen on the Danish Church’s Intranet

Current civil servant organists have the right to retain their civil service status when employed with direct transition. In that case a reclassification of the position must be carried out.

The annual salary for a church musician is agreed within the interval of DKK 333,748 to DKK 475,590 (current kroner). There is a availability commitment to the position. The availability allowance amounts annually to DKK 27,641 (current kroner).

OK allowance of DKK 1,082 (current kroner).

An agreement on placement in the salary range is concluded between the parish council and the Danish Church Musicians Association before employment.

The annual salary for applicants with a church music master’s degree (DOKS) is agreed according to the new pay-AC scale. That is a gross salary between DKK 363,169 and DKK 442,529 per year (current kroner).

There is an availability commitment to the position. The availability allowance amounts annually to between DKK 46,727 and DKK 72,573 (current kroner). Placement and availability allowance are provided according to seniority. In addition, qualification and position allowances may be provided after local negotiation.

The annual salary for applicants with church musician training in organ and choir leadership (formerly PO organists) is agreed in accordance with the agreed basic pay grade system. Base grade 1 amounts to DKK 350,435 annually (current kroner) and base grade 2 amounts to DKK 368,189 annually (current kroner). Placement occurs according to seniority.

There is an availability commitment to the position. The availability allowance amounts annually to 44,944 DKK for service at 2-3 churches.

Salary, OK allowance, and availability allowance are prorated in accordance with the position’s appointment fraction.
