About the job

Do you want to help set the direction? Do you want leadership – and to be at the forefront for employees who know their craft and are passionate about it? We are looking for a senior bioanalyst for Multi 4 in Blood Tests and Clinical Chemistry at Aarhus University Hospital, with start date 1 December 2026 or by agreement.

Here you get a leadership position close to both staff, operations and professional development. You will lead a highly specialised section where strong professionalism, research and development are part of everyday life – and where your task is to create the framework for people and professionalism to succeed together.

As a senior bioanalyst in Multi 4 you will also become part of the management in a large laboratory department. Here we expect our leaders to take responsibility for their own area and contribute to the whole – even when solutions must be found across disciplines and organizational boundaries.

We are therefore looking for you who both want close management and to actively contribute to the development of our tasks, collaboration and organisation.

About Multi 4

Multi 4 is a highly specialised section with about 15 bioanalysts. The section handles a number of highly specialised analyses, including immunochemical methods and specialised analyses within, for example, neurology, autoimmunity and vitamin B12. In addition, the section handles pre-analytical functions and participates in a 24/7 duty community with other sections.

The section actively contributes to research and development and conducts analyses in connection with research projects both internally and externally.

Multi 4 is characterised by high professionalism, engagement and close collaboration between staff with different competencies and functions. We place emphasis on a culture of trust, respect and a shared responsibility for quality, operations and collaboration.

A broad leadership task

As a senior bioanalyst you have a particular responsibility for staff, operations, resources and the working environment and you contribute together with the rest of the section management to professional development and quality in the area.

You must be close to the day-to-day task solving and at the same time be able to lift your gaze and set the direction for the area’s development. You will play a central role in creating a framework where high professional quality, safe operations, development and a good working environment go hand in hand.

Your responsibilities include, among other things

  • staff management, employee development and well-being
  • recruitment and retention
  • planning and prioritising resources and competences
  • responsibility for safe and stable operations
  • work environment and development of a strong working community
  • quality, professional development and continuous improvements
  • implementation and anchoring of new solutions and workflows
  • support of the section’s research and development activities
  • collaboration across sections, professional groups and organizational boundaries
  • contribution to the department’s overall development and task solving.

You will join the section management together with the chief physician and the biochemist. You bring different professional perspectives into the leadership and share responsibility for the section’s overall development, while as a senior bioanalyst you have the personnel management of the bioanalyst group.

Leadership with us

We place emphasis on present and clear leadership and on our leaders creating direction, involving and taking responsibility.

As a senior bioanalyst you must be able to stand behind decisions and at the same time be curious about staff’s professionalism and perspectives. You should be able to build good relationships and have an eye for the fact that solutions are often found in collaboration between people and across disciplines and organizational areas.

You will become part of the department’s group of senior bioanalysts and have close collaboration with the department’s other leaders. We view leadership as a shared task and expect our leaders to both take responsibility for their own area and actively contribute to the whole.

Blood Tests and Clinical Chemistry is a large department in ongoing development. New technologies, changed tasks, and new ways of collaboration mean that our organization is also evolving. As a leader with us you must therefore thrive on development and be eager to help find good solutions – also across the organizational boundaries we know today.

That also means that tasks and areas of responsibility may evolve over time in line with the department’s needs and organization.

Who are you?

You are trained as a bioanalyst and have an interest in leadership. You have management experience or have, through other roles, clearly demonstrated leadership potential and are now ready to take the next step.

We value that you

  • are clear, present and trust-building
  • can set direction and at the same time give room for staff’s professionalism
  • have an eye for both people, operations, quality and development
  • can prioritise and make decisions in a complex daily life
  • work relationally and contribute to good collaborations
  • are curious about other disciplines and perspectives
  • can see beyond your own area and contribute to the department as a whole
  • can maintain an overview, even when many considerations and interests are at stake
  • are eager to develop and can help translate new opportunities into practical solutions.

It is not essential that you know all the functions and analyses in Multi 4 in advance. The most important is that you are curious, take responsibility and can bring the staff’s and collaborators’ professional expertise into play.

We offer

You will get an independent and versatile leadership position in a large and highly specialised department with engaged and professionally strong staff. You will also become part of a leadership community where we collaborate across, spar with each other and share a common ambition to create good solutions for patients, staff and partners. You will have the opportunity to both influence Multi 4 and contribute to the continued development of Blood Tests and Clinical Chemistry.

Employment terms

Salary and conditions in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. The employment is conditioned on a satisfactory criminal record check and a satisfactory authorization.
