About the job

We are seeking a chief physician/specialist physician for the Department of Nuclear Medicine at Herlev and Gentofte Hospital to undertake general as well as specialized functions. The position is currently linked to the Gentofte Hospital unit. The chief physician/specialist is part of the department's overall specialist team.

The Department of Nuclear Medicine consists of one division at Gentofte Hospital and three divisions at Herlev Hospital; a division for nuclear medicine and clinical physiology, a cyclotron and radiochemistry division, and a PET division. The Gentofte division handles PET scans, but also gamma camera examinations, distal blood pressure measurement, tilt-table test, DXA scans and ultrasound examinations. The division has four consultants and one training physician.

We are thus a small medical team where everyone helps each other and takes care of each other – and we place high value on mutual sparring and learning in an open and respectful environment.

Herlev and Gentofte Hospital is one of the Capital Region’s acute hospitals and a large cancer hospital. The specialties internal medicine, breast surgery, oncology, orthopaedic surgery and urology are together with general practice the largest users of the Gentofte division’s examinations. The department works closely with the radiology department and with the referring clinical departments.

The department serves Herlev and Gentofte Hospital as well as other hospitals.

We offer

Employment in a department that is continually developing, where all staff groups work closely together and where we focus on providing the best diagnostics and treatment. The large patient flow and the close relationship with the collaborating departments provide an obvious opportunity for continuous learning, research and development. The Gentofte division has, in addition to the 5 doctors, 11 bioanalysts, 5 radiographers and 2-3 physicists affiliated.

Specific tasks

  • You will be responsible for triage/visitation and description of the department's examinations
  • You will be responsible for one or more examinations in collaboration with colleagues
  • You contribute to developing the department's examination repertoire
  • You will handle MDT conferences
  • You will join an environment in close collaboration with all staff groups

We expect that you

  • Are a specialist in clinical physiology and nuclear medicine
  • Have experience with both PET examinations as well as physiological studies
  • Contribute to ensuring the department's continued development
  • Participate in the specialist training of junior doctors, as well as doctors from other specialties
  • Have good qualifications in communication and the ability to collaborate both internally in the department and externally, which is why it is highly valued that you can work closely with your nearest colleagues
  • Contribute to ensuring high quality in patient pathways in collaboration with other staff groups and external partners

Conditions of employment

The position is full-time and to be filled on January 1, 2027 or by agreement.

Employment will be in accordance with the collective agreement concluded between the Regional Salary and Tariff Board and the Association of Specialist Doctors.

Applicants will be professionally assessed based on the applicant's information about their competences within the seven competence areas corresponding to the seven roles in the specialist doctor scheme.
