You will play a central role in the further development of the municipal dental care. An important part of your tasks will be to maintain quality in the core task, while translating new political and legal frameworks into new professionally strong and organizationally sustainable solutions.

The dental service in brief

The Dental Service in Skive provides dental care for 9,700 children and young people and 500 patients in care, specialist and social dental care. We are 35 dedicated employees gathered in a newly renovated central clinic in the Health House in Skive. The Dental Service is well regarded and receives positive feedback from both patients and the political level.

Cross-department leadership

As the head of the Dental Service you have the overall professional, personnel and financial responsibility for the Dental Service. You report to the Health and Psychiatry Chief, who will be your closest sparring partner. Together you create direction and a solid basis for decisions for the political level.

You will also become part of the Health Department’s leadership team, where we spar, develop and solve common tasks across the areas. The group, in addition to you, includes leadership colleagues from the other areas of the department: Center for Psychiatry and Substance Abuse, Health Center, Psychiatry Advice (authorities) and Health & Administration.

The Chief Dentist we are looking for

You are an experienced and broadly based dentist. Perhaps you already have leadership experience, or you have demonstrated talent and ambitions for leadership through professional responsibility, project management or coordination. If you do not already have a relevant leadership education, we expect you to be motivated to undertake one – and we will support you in it.

Experience from municipal dentistry is an advantage, but not a requirement. The crucial thing is that you can navigate in an organization with many stakeholders and partners.

The process

The application deadline is 11 November 2026.

The first interview will be held on 19 November and the second on 25 November. If you proceed to the second interview, a personality profile will be prepared.

Start date is 1 January 2027.
