Engelshøj Daycare – Science at the Center seeks a pedagogue or pedagogical assistant

We are seeking a pedagogue or pedagogical assistant for 37 hours per week, or the possibility of a lower hourly commitment, for our sprouting group with children aged approximately 2-4 years

Engelshøj Daycare – Science at the Center is a department in Daycare Sønderborg City. We are licensed for 16 infants and 40 preschool children, furthermore we have in the house an international department with space for 23 children

Engelshøj Daycare is an institution in development. In January 2021 we opened a nursery and developed our science profile, in collaboration with the House of Science. Our science profile means that we consciously have an exploratory and inquisitive approach together with the children. We follow the children's initiative, perspective and work from the idea of inclusive communities, as well as the individual child's opportunities to participate.

We deliberately work with slow pedagogy as a cornerstone of our pedagogical work and place high emphasis on formation, care and learning. In Engelshøj the core task is “Giving children a good day in a developing environment”, as well as an acknowledgment and rewarding partnership with parents, highly prioritized.

We can offer an engaged and professionally competent staff group, with a strong sense of togetherness, about 80 fantastic children and their parents.

Our new pedagogue

• Is trained as a pedagogue or pedagogical assistant
• Focuses on the core task
• Is visible among children, parents and colleagues
• Is academically well-founded in the field and uses it as a basis for their pedagogical work
• Works with inclusive communities
• Ensures that learning environments are created that support children's development.
• Works with the strengthened curriculum and the institution's pedagogical foundation
• Has an acknowledging approach in their relations with both children, parents and colleagues
• Is curious and inquisitive together with the children
• Passionate about science and outdoor life
• Can document and evaluate their pedagogical work
• Can use IT both pedagogically and for documentation.

Terms of employment

You will assume the position on 1 December or by agreement.

We offer salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. Upon employment, a criminal record certificate and a children’s certificate will be obtained. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.
