Educator or Pedagogical Assistant for Universets Nursery – with presence and professionalism in daily life

Would you like to work with the youngest children and have trained colleagues to develop your practice with? At Børnehuset Universet we are looking for a pedagogue or pedagogical assistant who wants to help create everyday life with secure relationships, curiosity and strong child communities.

The small moments make a big difference

When a child tries something new, finds the courage to participate in the play or begins to put words to their experiences, you are close by. In our baby house we work with the children’s independence, language and participation in the community – both through play and activities and in everyday routines.

We follow the children’s traces and make room for movement, sensation and small projects. Together with your colleagues you plan activities and create safe, recognizable frames with room for the children’s initiatives.

Parental cooperation is an important part of the task. Through daily dialogue we collaborate on the child’s well-being and development.

A house with many professional sparring partners

At Universet we are around 80 children and a staff group with 11 pedagogues, six pedagogue assistants (PAU), a cook, a kitchen assistant and a pedagogical leader. That gives you many educated colleagues to discuss ideas, questions and everyday pedagogical choices with.

We work among other things with longer learning processes, sense-based pedagogy and NEST-inspired approaches that support inclusive learning environments. We are focused on how our professional knowledge can be translated into a good everyday life for the children.

Universet consists of a baby house and a kindergarten house. We open and close together, share a playground and help each other across. We value both professional discussions and laughter in everyday life and have social events, including an annual staff weekend.

Your upcoming leader, Mette, has experience as a pedagogue and professional coordinator and emphasizes presenceful leadership, high professionalism and staff well-being.

Practical information

The position is 37 hours per week with start on December 1, 2026. We prioritize full-time appointments, because stability and time for relationships, preparation and collaboration are important for quality in everyday life.

Salary and employment terms follow the applicable collective agreement and the Ny Løn principles. We will obtain child welfare and criminal record checks as well as references in connection with the employment.
