About the job
Would you like to be the educator or pedagogical assistant who completes our professional community? Educator or pedagogical assistant sought for 37 hours at Rishøjens Preschool
There are many job advertisements that tell you what a workplace expects from you.
We would rather tell you what you can expect from us.
Because we believe that good workplaces, like good children’s communities, are created through relationships, trust and a shared desire to continually become a little better.
Imagine a typical morning... It is a little after nine o’clock.
A colleague has taken a smaller group of children to the forest. Another is immersed in a creative project with four children. In the playground, a group is focused on motor skills and movement, while an adult helps a child gather the courage to join in the play.
It’s not a coincidence.
That is how we have chosen to organize our everyday.
We believe that children develop best when they are met by present adults who have time to see them, listen to them and follow their initiatives.
Therefore we work several mornings a week in smaller groups. Not because it’s easier, but because we experience that it provides more presence, stronger relationships and better opportunities for participation for all children.
A small house with big professional ambitions Rishøjens Preschool is an integrated day institution with around 60 children.
We are a smaller house, and that means that we know each other. The children know all the adults, the parents meet familiar faces, and we help each other across the house.
Now we hope to find you, an educator or pedagogical assistant, who would like to become part of a strong professional community.
With us you will not be just one among many.
You will become a colleague whose professionalism matters, and who gets the opportunity to make their mark on everyday life.
Professionalism is something we do We work with primary pedagogy because we believe that secure relationships create the best conditions for children’s well-being, development and learning.
We organize daily life in small children’s communities because we experience that children get better opportunities to be seen, heard and actively participate.
We work based on the Marte Meo method, which supports our focus on relationships, resources and interaction. The method helps us to spot what already works and develops our pedagogical practice based on the children’s initiatives and strengths.
We also actively use nature and the local area. The library, cultural activities, movement and motor activities are a natural part of everyday life because we believe that children learn in many different places, not only indoors.
You don’t need to have all the answers We don’t either.
But we do expect you to be curious.
With us it is a strength to say
"I wonder..."
"What might the child be trying to tell us?"
"Could we do something differently?"
We don’t believe that high professionalism is about knowing the most.
We believe that high professionalism is about being curious, reflective and willing to develop together with colleagues.
Therefore we prioritize professional dialogues, sparring and reflection as a natural part of everyday life.
We give professionalism time Good pedagogy does not arise only with the children.
It also develops when there is time to plan, evaluate and reflect.
Therefore all employees have six hours of planned time for other work every other month, financed by the Køge municipality.
The time is used for, among other things, documentation, planning, evaluation, preparation and professional reflection.
In addition, we continuously try to create opportunities for employees to move away from the child group and work on professional tasks when daily life and staffing allow, often on Fridays.
We don’t do it because documentation should take up more space.
We do it because good pedagogy requires time to think about it.
You will thrive with us if... You don’t have to fit into a specific box.
But we think you will feel at home with us if you
- are trained as an educator or pedagogical assistant
- can plan and carry out pedagogical activities for a small group of children on your own some mornings
- are motivated by creating strong relationships with children and parents
- are curious about both the children’s and your own development
- want to share your professionalism with your colleagues
- take responsibility for the whole house – not just your own room
- see opportunities rather than limitations
- have humor and contribute to a good working environment.
Whether you are newly trained or have many years of experience is not decisive.
We are more concerned with who you are as a person and which professionalism you want to bring into play.
What do you get with us? With us you get
- a strong professional community with engaged colleagues
- great influence on pedagogical practice
- opportunity to work independently with smaller groups of children
- a workplace where reflection and professional development are prioritized
- a leader who believes in trust, dialogue, sparring and shared influence
- colleagues who help each other and lift each other up in unity
- a everyday life with laughter, commitment and high ambitions for the children.
Maybe you should just come by... A job advertisement can tell you a lot.
But it cannot tell you how it feels to walk through the door.
Therefore we would very much like to invite you for a cup of coffee and a tour if you are curious whether Rishøjens Preschool could be your new workplace.
Perhaps it is only when you experience the atmosphere, meet the children and speak with us that you feel whether this is where you belong. We prefer that you apply online. Click on “Search for the position” and attach your application and CV.
