About the job

Educator sought – close teamwork, professional supervision and opportunity to influence your shift schedule

Do you want to make a difference for six people with developmental disabilities – and at the same time be part of a workplace where professionalism, trust and joy at work are an important part of everyday life?

We are looking for an educator for 30 hours per week at one of the houses at Botilbuddet Aage Holms Vej in Hjørring with start on 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

A meaningful everyday life

In the house, there are six people with developmental disabilities, all wheelchair users with other accompanying challenges. We work every day to create a safe and meaningful everyday life, where each person is met with respect, presence and understanding of their wishes, needs and resources.

As an educator you will be an important part of the residents' everyday life. You help create good relationships, support self-determination and give each individual the best possibilities for well-being and quality of life.

You will become part of a small team where we help each other, share our experiences and together find the best solutions for the residents. In addition we work with “buddy houses,” where each house has a primary “buddy” you work with when needed.

Here we develop together

We prioritize professionalism and believe that we become more skilled when we are curious about our own practice and learn from each other.

We work, among other things, with

  • Neuropedagogy – as an approach to understand the individual and tailor our pedagogical interventions.
  • Low arousal – as a method where calm, security and a conflict-deescalating approach are in focus.
  • Visualization – as a method to support overview, communication and predictability.
  • SMART goals – as a method to work systematically with residents' well-being and development.

We offer professional supervision based on neuropedagogy, where together we can examine concrete situations, share perspectives and develop our professional approaches.

You do not need to know everything in advance. The most important is that you want to learn, contribute with your professionalism and be part of a community where we develop together.

Trust, dialogue and joy at work

Our core values are trust, dialogue and joy at work . They are the foundation for our collaboration and the way we meet both residents and colleagues.

We want a workplace where there is room to ask questions, share ideas and speak openly about what works – and what is difficult. We take shared responsibility and believe that good collegiality helps create quality in the work with the residents.

At Botilbuddet Aage Holms Vej we are 130 employees distributed across eight houses. You will thus become part of a larger professional community with colleagues across the organization.

Influence on your own shift plan

We know that a good working life is also about making everyday life fit.

Therefore we use a shift planning system where you can request your shifts and thus have influence over your own shift plan. We try to accommodate employees' wishes while ensuring a good everyday life for the residents.

We imagine that you …

  • Are educated as an educator and want to work with people with developmental disabilities.
  • Meet the residents with respect, care and regard for their resources and self-determination.
  • Are curious about your professional development and want to reflect on your practice.
  • Thrive with both independent tasks and close teamwork.
  • Want to engage in personal care and health-related tasks.
  • Contribute positively to the community and to joy at work.

Experience from the disability field is an advantage, but your motivation and desire for professional development are at least as important.
