Educator for Abildgård Børnehus (Special Kindergarten)

We are seeking a pedagogue for 37 hours per week who becomes curious when something is difficult. A pedagogue who looks beyond the behavior, believes in children's developmental possibilities, and wants to develop their practice together with others.

About us

At Abildgård Børnehus you meet children aged 0-6 years who need special support and special pedagogical interventions to participate and develop. With us no child is the same. Therefore there are no standard solutions.

We are approved as a § 83 offer under the Children’s Act and a § 4 offer under the Daycare Act. With us, children with different developmental prerequisites, functional impairments and needs for special support are part of everyday life. Here, children should primarily experience being children. They should play, explore, participate in communities and experience successes in their daily lives.

The kindergarten is organized in four rooms, where the children are part of smaller communities with safe adults and high specialized pedagogical expertise. But we see ourselves as one house, and therefore we help each other across and share knowledge, ideas and responsibility for the children.

We believe that all children do well if they can. When something is difficult for a child, our first task is not to change the child, but to explore how we can adjust our learning environments, relationships and pedagogical practices.

What is special about working with us is that no day is the same, and no child fits into a ready-made recipe. It takes curiosity, creativity and professional reflection to find ways when something becomes difficult. In return, you have the opportunity to make a real difference for children who need us to stay curious and persistent.

Professional reflection and documentation

You should want to work systematically with documentation including, among other things, DPU descriptions, development descriptions and action plans.

For us, documentation is not something that runs alongside the pedagogical work. Documentation is an integrated part of our professional practice. It helps us understand the children's development, qualify our pedagogical choices and create shared reflection on our practice.

The practical

The position is 37 hours per week with appointment from 1 November or as soon as possible thereafter. Our opening hours are from 6:00 to 16:30. Once a month we hold a staff meeting outside opening hours and in addition there is one pedagogical day per year. It falls on a Saturday.

A child and criminal record check will be obtained in connection with employment. References will also be obtained prior to employment.
