About the job

Nurse/ Pedagogue for House 15 at the Autism Offer at Kelsbjergvej Do you want to use your pedagogical expertise to create structure, well-being and meaningful communities for adults with autism? We look forward to welcoming a new resident to House 15 soon, and therefore we are looking for one or more trained pedagogues who want to become part of our team and help create structure, well-being and meaningful communities in House 15 – an ordinary shared accommodation unit with space for up to 12 adults with autism and reduced mental function.

The position is for you who are motivated by specialized autism pedagogy, where relationships, structure, visual support, communication, sensory regulation and social participation are central parts of the core task.

In House 15 we work to enable residents to master as much as possible themselves and to participate in everyday life and communities in a way that makes sense for them.

About the work in House 15 House 15 is an ordinary shared accommodation unit under the Service Act § 85 in housing under the Danish Affordable Housing Act § 105. Here we support adults with autism in creating overview, structure, well-being and participation in everyday life.

Since House 15 is not a sheltered unit, you do not work in fixed one-to-one cases. You support several residents and create frameworks where the individual can be in their own structure while also taking part in communities on their own terms.

Everyday life requires that you can create calm and predictability, support contact and interaction between residents and make activities, meals and routines manageable.

You have an eye for both resources and particular challenges with communication, sensory impressions, overview, demands and social situations.

You are principally employed in House 15, but Kelsbjergvej is one collective workplace where we help each other when needed.

About the target group and the pedagogical core task The residents in House 15 have autism and reduced mental function, but support needs are generally less extensive than in the sheltered units at Kelsbjergvej. Many can participate in daily routines, activities and communities with clear frameworks, visual support and guidance.

The core task is to understand the residents’ needs, resources and load level and translate this into support that prevents distress and strengthens self-determination, mastering and participation.

Residents may, among other things, have challenges related to

  • Communication and social understanding
  • Processing sensory input and sensory regulation
  • Emotion regulation and self-control
  • Overview, structure and predictability
  • Transitions, demands and changes
  • Participation in everyday life, activities and communities

Our professional basis We work rehabilitatively based on the life the individual resident wishes to lead. We support the resident in maintaining and developing resources, participation, self-determination and mastery.

We work among other things with

  • LA2u
  • KRAP
  • TEACCH
  • Durewall method
  • Rehabilitative workflows
  • Goal and sub-goal work
  • Professional documentation in KMD Nexus

In House 15 we develop shared structures and systems that make everyday life recognizable for residents and provide a clear professional basis for the staff.

We focus on professional development, shared learning and a clear autism-pedagogical practice.

We offer Here you will have the opportunity to use your expertise close to the residents’ daily life and help develop a house with a focus on structure, collaboration and community. We offer:

  • Specialized pedagogical work in an ordinary shared accommodation unit
  • Dedicated colleagues and high professional ambitions
  • A structured introduction program to organization, target group and methods
  • Team meetings, staff meetings, professional supervision and ongoing sparring
  • Opportunity for skills development as well as continuing education
  • Close collaboration with the activity offer, relatives and external partners
  • Opportunity for responsibility and development tasks in a workplace in development

We are looking for you, as We are looking for one or more trained pedagogues with a desire to work specialized with adults with autism in an ordinary shared accommodation unit. You must have a strong pedagogical foundation, overview and a desire to develop practice together with others.

You must be able to work independently with several residents while actively contributing to the team’s professional reflections. Therefore we emphasize that you:

  • Can create structure, calm and predictability in a daily life with multiple residents
  • Are good at building relationships and reading residents’ communication, signals and needs
  • Can observe behavior, sensory impressions and load level and use it preventively
  • Can work systematically with goals, sub-goals, structures, evaluation and documentation
  • Contribute actively to team collaboration and share professional reflections in a constructive way
  • Are comfortable using IT in daily life and have a driving license

You do not need to know all methods in advance. The crucial thing is that you want to learn and develop your practice together with others.
