About the job

Are you focused on what creates a high-quality SFO? Do you see leisure pedagogy as a field in itself, where play, relationships, participation opportunities and strong child communities are crucial? And do you also want to build a bridge between the children's school and leisure life?

Then perhaps you are the one we are looking for for our primary school and SFO at Antvorskov School.

We are looking for a trained pedagogue who primarily is passionate about working with children in their leisure life, and who wants to bring their pedagogical professionalism into play.

With us, the SFO should be much more than the place where children are when the school day ends. It should be a place children want to be. A place with strong communities, good relationships, play, immersion, creativity, movement and the possibility to follow their own interests and contribute to shaping their leisure time.

Therefore we are looking for a pedagogue who wants to help develop our SFO and be curious about the question:

What is good leisure pedagogy, and how can children sense it in their everyday life?

About Antvorskov School and SFO

Antvorskov School is a 3-5-track folkeskole with about 950 students from 0th-9th grade.

In our SFO we have about 300 children from 0.-3. year groups. In 0.-2. year groups we work in theme teams, while the children in 3. year group have their own base in a separate building, where we work with an offering that resembles more of a club, to prepare the children for club life.

We also have NEST offers for normally gifted pupils with autism and a special class series for normally gifted pupils who experience challenges in social interaction, contact, communication and emotional regulation.

Common to our work is the ambition to create safe and participatory communities for all children.

Our view of children takes as a starting point

"Our children are more alike than they are different."

"All children do the best they can."

Your everyday life with us

You will be attached to a class in the lower school and follow the children across their school and leisure life.

You will typically have about 8-10 lessons per week in school, where you collaborate with the teachers about the children, the class and the community.

The majority of your remaining work time is in the SFO, and it is important for us that you can see yourself in this.

In the SFO we do not expect only that you can initiate an activity. We expect that you can bring your pedagogical professionalism into play and reflect on why we do what we do.

It can for example deal with

  • How we create activities that children actually want to participate in.
  • How we support play without always taking over it.
  • How we help children into communities.
  • How we spot the children who stand on the edge of the community.
  • How we create space for both organized activities and the children's own initiatives.
  • How children get real influence on their leisure life.
  • How do we bind school – break – SFO together

You must therefore both be able to plan and implement activities and at the same time be the present adult who notices what arises between the children.

We are focused on our pedagogical professionalism

At Antvorskov School and SFO we work according to the NEST principles with clarity, structure and predictability as part of the work to create safe learning and development environments.

At the same time, we are focusing this school year on Louise Klinge, HAFU and restorative practice, so that the children meet a common view of children and a recognizable pedagogical approach across school and SFO, which you should be able to see yourself in.

We also want to develop our common language for quality in the SFO . Therefore you should be willing to wonder together with your colleagues, share your perspectives and help develop our practice.

We are not looking for a pedagogue who already has all the answers.

We are looking for a pedagogue who is professionally curious and wants to find good answers together with us.

We imagine that you

  • are a trained pedagogue, preferably with experience from school and leisure areas
  • are passionate about leisure pedagogy and see the SFO as an important pedagogical space in children's lives
  • are focused on play, learning, relationships, communities and children's opportunities to participate
  • can create fun, exciting and meaningful activities together with the children
  • dare to bring your own interests and competencies into play
  • are curious about your own and your colleagues' pedagogical practice
  • can work systematically, relationally and structurally
  • thrive in a close cross-professional collaboration with teachers and pedagogues
  • have an eye for both the individual child and the community around the child
  • are keen to help develop our SFO.

With us you get

  • colleagues with high professionalism and engagement
  • a work community with room for professional discussions and different perspectives
  • a workplace with a positive and resource-oriented view of children
  • opportunity to put your own imprint on activities and the pedagogical practice
  • opportunity to bring your own interests and strengths into the SFO
  • influence over your daily life
  • freedom with responsibility
  • and not least about 300 children who every day expect that we together create an SFO worth going to.
