About us

Valdemarsgade Nursing Home is a specialized offering for citizens with dementia. We have 31 permanent places and one respite place, which makes it possible for citizens to stay longer in their own home.

The home is divided into smaller units that create security, recognizability and presence for the residents. We work from a person-centered approach, where each resident's life story, wishes and resources form the basis for the actions.

You will become part of an engaged interdisciplinary team, where different professional backgrounds contribute to creating the best possible framework for residents' well-being and quality of life.

Your role as a pedagogue

As a pedagogue at Valdemarsgade you will be an important part of the residents' daily life. You actively participate in both the pedagogical work and daily care and assistance. The work takes place in close cooperation with the other professional groups in the house, and you enter a fixed daytime shift with work every other weekend.

Your tasks will include, among others, to

• Collaborate with colleagues in the interdisciplinary team
• Contribute with health professional knowledge and guidance
• Ensure a safe and dignified life for residents with dementia
• Work according to the Health Act and ensure high-quality documentation
• Collaborate with residents, relatives, guardians and other relevant actors

We are looking for someone who

• is educated as a pedagogue
• has a calm and approachable demeanor – nonverbal communication is important
• has interest or experience with the dementia field
• has a preventive approach and can observe small changes in residents' condition
• dare to think creatively and find solutions with respect for the individual
• keeps calm in acute situations and acts professionally
• is familiar with IT and documentation

Practical information

• Salary and employment terms according to applicable collective agreement
• The position is 37 hours per week or as agreed.
• Work every other weekend.
