About the job
We have access to students and are therefore seeking another educator for Satellitten. Would you like to be part of a well-functioning special education program with a high level of professional capital? A place where staff are passionate about their work, while also getting along well? A place where professional discussions, curiosity and development go hand in hand with good laughter? Then maybe you are the person we are seeking for a full-time position at Satellitten and in SFO’ro.
We are looking for a trained educator who is passionate about making a difference for children and young people with special needs. Ideally you have experience in the field of special education – and otherwise you should be keen to develop it.
About Satellitten
Satellitten is Antvorskov School's special program for normally able students who have challenges with social interaction, communication, imagination, as well as behavioral and emotional regulation. The students are referred from across Slagelse Municipality.
As part of Satellitten you will have the opportunity to support and develop the students' academic, social and personal skills. We have students from kindergarten to 9th grade and work closely across classes and subject groups. We do not, among other things, have traditional recesses, but have break workshops where students from all grade levels participate. As an educator in Satellitten you therefore become not only part of a class, but part of a whole special educational offering.
With us, academic learning, well-being, formation and personal development are closely connected. We work with clear and secure frameworks – but also with professional curiosity to try new paths when a student needs us to do something differently.
About SFO’ro
SFO’ro is part of the general SFO at Antvorskov. SFO’ro is a service for referred children from Satellitten and NEST classes. SFO’ro aims to ensure the children a structured and predictable SFO time, where there are adults who are familiar with the children’s challenges. SFO’ro will purposefully work pedagogically with these children’s zone of proximal development in cooperation with the class team.
SFO’ro takes basis in the NEST principles in the form of a view of people and the idea that people are more alike than different, as well as in the Low Arousal principles, where the pedagogical framework starts from tailoring demands to the child’s capabilities.
About the job
- Satellitten continuously adapts to the student group, and therefore you must be able to see yourself working with students at all grade levels.
- The special educational, formation and well-being aspects are just as central as teaching.
- Our students have different starting points and needs, and therefore the willingness and ability to differentiate teaching is crucial.
- You will have support to courageously try different didactic and pedagogical approaches to how the individual student learns best.
- It is important that you are independent and imaginative and thrive with students of different ages.
- You will work closely with educators, teachers and management to create a structured and supportive daily life for the students.
- You should contribute to ensuring that the students experience safety and predictability, enabling them to develop their social and academic skills.
- You will be part of a dedicated team that works with targeted pedagogical and didactic approaches that take into account the students' individual needs and strengths.
- The job requires that you can support the students' social interaction and work on their emotional and behavioral regulation through, for example, visual and structured approaches.
- Working hours are within 06:30 to 17:00 on weekdays, and you may be involved in holiday care in SFO.
We are looking for an educator who
- has experience in the field of special education or a strong interest in developing in this area
- can establish safe and trusting relationships with students who need support for social contact and regulation
- sees good school-home collaboration as a cornerstone of the work and meets parents respectfully and acknowledging
- is flexible, patient and able to adapt activities and teaching to support the students' development and well-being
- thrives in a team where openness and professional sparring are emphasized
- can work in a structured way and have an interest in visual and other special education approaches that support the students’ need for predictability
- enjoys working with students in learning environments outside the classroom, for example outdoor schooling, field trips and teaching outside the school's traditional setting
What you get with us
You will become part of a staff team with high professional competence and a strong commitment to the students. We prioritize professional sparring, close collaboration and room to be curious about our own and others' practice. All teams have supervision every month.
We have high expectations of each other because our students and their families deserve high quality. But we also value a workplace where there is room for diversity, good ideas and humor – and where you are not left alone with the difficult tasks.
