About the job

Would you like to help create development, learning and well-being for children and youths who need us to do things a little differently?

At the Trekløverskolen department at Støvringgårdvej we are looking for a pedagogue for a permanent position.

We are looking for you who are passionate about special educational work and who can see opportunities even when something is difficult. You who are strong in relationship work, can stay calm in complex situations and at the same time be curious about what lies behind the pupil's behavior.

Welcome to Støvringgårdvej

Trekløverskolen is Randers Municipality's special school for children and youths in grades 0-10 and has departments on Blommevej, Borup Byvej and Støvringgårdvej.

At Støvringgårdvej we meet students with socio-emotional difficulties, often combined with e.g. ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, OCD, anxiety and/or self-harming behavior.

For many of our students, school life has been characterized by defeats or challenges. Therefore, we work purposefully to create frameworks where each student can feel that they belong, succeed and develop.

We work in smaller classes and groups with clear and compensatory frameworks and with a high degree of relationship pedagogy. We base ourselves on the individual student's prerequisites, needs and development possibilities and adjust our practice according to what the student needs – even when daily form changes.

We believe that all children do well if they can . Therefore, our task is not primarily to make the student fit into a particular framework, but to be curious about how we can adjust the framework so that the student has the opportunity to succeed.

When school does not just take place at a table

At Støvringgårdvej we work with the extended concept of teaching and with the idea of bringing the subject to the child.

Learning can therefore look very different.

One day mathematics can take place through a concrete practical task. Another day the students' social and personal competencies can be developed through nature and outdoor life, internships, esports, animal-assisted pedagogy, swimming, sailing and fishing or other practice-oriented activities.

We work among other things with different alternative learning offers, which are designed based on the students' needs, motivation and development opportunities.

That means that you as a pedagogue have the opportunity to use your professional skills broadly and help create learning environments where students experience meaning, participation and mastery.

Your role as a pedagogue

As a pedagogue, you will become an important part of the students' everyday life and of the team that, together around the student, creates the framework for development and learning.

You will among other things work with

  • relationship work and building trusting relationships
  • the students' personal, social and academic development
  • structure, predictability and clear frameworks
  • participation in teaching and practical learning activities
  • conflict management and low arousal
  • to understand and act on the student's signals and behavior
  • support for students' participation in communities
  • observation, documentation and targeted pedagogical work
  • parent collaboration
  • close collaboration with teachers, pedagogues and other professional groups.

We work in cross-professional learning communities where we share knowledge, seek sparring and develop practice together.

With us, the pedagogical practice is de-privatized . This means that we must be able to stand on our own two feet and at the same time have the courage to open the door to our own practice, invite colleagues in and be curious about each other’s perspectives.

We are looking for you who...

  • are a trained pedagogue and want to work in the special field
  • have strong relational competencies and can create trust and safety
  • can be clear, calm and caring at the same time
  • can maintain overview when situations become complex
  • are curious about the student’s perspective and what lies behind the behavior
  • can work structurally and systematically with the student’s development
  • can adjust your pedagogical practice to the student’s current needs and functional level
  • have knowledge of or a desire to work with low arousal and conflict management
  • can collaborate closely and respectfully with colleagues, parents and other professionals
  • are willing to bring your professional knowledge into play and help develop our shared practice

Experience from the special field is an advantage, but the most important for us is that you have professional curiosity, commitment and a desire to make a difference for children and youths who need something other than the traditional school offering.

We offer

  • a professionally engaged and development-oriented workplace
  • capable and dedicated colleagues who are passionate about the students
  • a varied daily life where two days are rarely the same
  • opportunity to apply your pedagogical professional skills
  • close cross-professional collaboration
  • opportunity to help develop both the students’ daily life and our pedagogical practice
  • an workplace where dialogue, openness and shared responsibility are central values

And you will also get the chance to experience that what may look like a small step to others can be a huge advance for a student.
